Although entering the room had a slight smell everything from price to service to location to the beds was great, would definitely stay here again

We checked out after one night because we found a live German cockroach in the bathroom of our room. I reported the issue discreetly to the front desk because other guests were checking in, and we immediately began looking for another hotel. This happened during Family Weekend, when hotels in the area were heavily booked, and relocating took a significant amount of time away from the reason for our trip: spending time with our daughter, who is an out-of-state freshman. In addition to packing up and moving hotels, we carefully inspected our luggage and belongings because we were concerned about bringing cockroaches home with us. The entire experience was extremely unpleasant and disruptive. The hotel did allow us to end the reservation early without charging us for the remaining nights. However, the general manager declined to refund the first night. In the hotel’s written response, management stated that its inspection after our departure did not find a “serious pest issue,” while also referring to “finding a single cockroach” and confirming that the room was inspected and remediation procedures were followed after we left. I understand that finding one cockroach does not necessarily mean there is a widespread infestation. My concern is simply that we encountered a live German cockroach in our room, had to abruptly relocate during a very busy weekend, lost time with our daughter, and still paid for the affected night. For us, that made this a very disappointing stay.
