Top Wiesen Hotel Reviews

Hotel Schloss Schweinsburg

Hotel Schloss Schweinsburg

10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel set in nice grounds. The main building used to be a palace. We were allocated a room in the adjoining building. When we first arrived, we were told that they were full, despite us having booked in advance. But this was soon sorted out. Our room was clean and tidy and spacious. It had a slanted ceiling right above the bed, so we had to be careful getting in and out. The wifi was not very strong in the room but luckily we did not really need it for anything special. The restaurant offered a buffet or the a la carte menu. The buffet looked a bit lacking so we chose the menu and the food was excellent. We can highly recommend the pork schnitzel and the salmon. Parking free and on site. All in all, a lovely place to stay."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Wiesen?
The best times to visit Wiesen are during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to September, to enjoy the most pleasant weather and a full range of outdoor activities.

During these months, the weather is generally mild and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding Ore Mountains. You'll find the hiking trails in excellent condition, and it's a great time for cycling or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll through the meadows (Wiesen means "meadows" in German, after all).

Families often appreciate visiting in July and August. The longer daylight hours mean more time for outdoor adventures, and many local attractions, such as the nearby mining museums or the narrow-gauge railway, operate extended hours. It's also a good time for picnics and enjoying the natural beauty of the region.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway might prefer May, June, or September. These months offer comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities but typically have fewer crowds than the peak summer period.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
