My wife and I, 2 daughters and their boyfriends recently rented this unit for three weeks. There are excellent views from every room, and ample room for six, both in the unit and at the pool. Check in and out was easy and efficient. Correspondence with the owner and property manager was prompt, many excellent recommendations for restaurants, shopping, tours etc. the unit was well appointed, save the one negative comment below. The area is quiet and peaceful, a contrast to the hustle and bustle of Patong. As mentioned previously there are lots of stairs, so if mobility is an issue this might not be the place for you. Having said that, we managed fine, and my wife has had some significant significant surgery on one leg. There are a number of good restaurants, 7-11, and massages in walking distance, and several others a few kilometers away. Fresh fruit is available nearby on the beach. The pool and property were clean and well kept. The beach is not the best for swimming, but the views and sunsets are amazing, and there are other beaches nearby. Now, the reason I could not give the property 5* is as follows.... first the beds were very hard, but that is typically in this part of the world. Second, the couch in the living rm needs to be cleaned. It is a light beige in color, and had multiple stains...my wife is a bit of a neat freak, and she wouldn’t sit on it without putting a towel down first. And lastly, there was an issue with the cost and communication regarding cleaning and airport transfers which were different from what we were originally told. Some background. I sent a couple emails asking details about the unit, distance from the airport, cleaning frequency, etc. then I requested the dates for the three weeks in question Dec. 28- Jan 18, and it was accepted by the owner. Subsequently he said the rates were wrong on the site, and said the price should be almost double the price that was approved. The owner offered a compromise which was still significantly more. I said I was at my budget and could/would not pay more. The owner said he would honor the agreement. During those original email I was told the owner could arrange complimentary Airport transfers, and cleaning was every 3 days. I was later told transfers were not complimentary (quoted a price nearly double the going rate), and That cleaning was every 5 days. Not a big deal, but not what I was told before I booked. Perhaps because of a perceived loss of income? No explanation given.
