I had high expectations because this property was rated by someone as “wonderful”. But here are a few things that weren’t quite so wonderful.
The noise level: the walls were very thin, the air conditioner was crazy loud, and there’s a train track 100 yards away that the train came through on every night - a couple times a night - and honked his horn the whole way through town.
The staff: they were never available by phone or at the front desk. There’s a bell you can ring and sometimes they would eventually come and sometimes they wouldn’t. One exception was the cleaning staff who were excellent and cleaned our rooms daily. I showed them my appreciation in the amount of the tip I left. The other exception was whoever prepared the breakfast. It was tasty, hot, always on time, and the coffee was good.
The pool: it had debris floating on both the top and bottom of the water, which was never cleaned the whole time we were there.
I know it’s a small town and you can’t always expect the best due to not many conscientious employees available to choose from, but this was definitely a bit disappointing for the price.
