Professionally decorated English basement in a truly quiet Petworth neighborhood with wonderfully friendly neighbors. This is a completely private apartment with your own entrance, your own FULL kitchen, bath, bedroom, living room, and your own 2-car PARKING port. Outside is a conveniently covered sitting area.
Imagine coming home, making dinner, relaxing in front of a TV, then waking up to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee outside looking over the lawn, before taking off on your city adventure.

Near bars and restaurants, 15-20 mins to downtown and monuments, 10 min walk to metro, 10 mins drive to U st, Bethesda, Rock Creek park, 7 mins to Howard University.

Fantastic Stay!!

Cozy one bedroom with everything you would need for a stay away. Great location and was a short lyft away from everything in NW DC. Communication with the owners was stellar. Dog was awesome too!!

Quick and Quiet Stay

We ventured to DC this summer for a few nights to take part in a ceremony induction for my late father-in-law (Vietnam Vet). We decided to stay a few extra nights with our two boys and wanted to find something affordable, safe, and not too far from the city. This was the perfect little place. Pavel was very kind and communicative for our entire stay. Sonya, their Golden Retriever, was super sweet too and my boys enjoyed giving her some lovin'. The apartment was exactly as pictured -- we knew it was going to be small but we did not spend much time there so it was perfect for what we needed. It was cozy and very quiet and had everything we needed to get ready for our daily adventures or cook a meal at night when there. We decided to drive into the city each day instead of taking public transportation, however, the transit system is highly recommended and it is not far from their house. Driving took us on average 30 minutes to get in and out of the city -- NOT bad at all. :). Parkwhiz was amazing and helped us find parking. I am very thankful we found Pavel and Sasha's listing and would highly recommend it.

Wonderful time in DC

Charming appartment. Would definitely recommend for anyone planning a trip to Washington DC. Transportation was convenient via metro bus and rail using the Fort Totten Station.

DC family wedding weekend

A very pleasant, nicely decorated and comfortable home away from home while in DC to attend a family wedding. It was very convenient to have a parking space and some outdoor seating. We did not cook any meals but the full-size fridge gave us plenty of room for breakfast foods and beverages. The neighborhood was residential and felt safe. We would book this property again.

Washington DC 2024 trip

Perfect size for 2...everything we needed to sleep, relax and rejuvenate after a day of touring DC. Great location to subway, neighborhood walks, close to local restaurant, liquor store and mini grocery store. Sonia the dog was so loveable and loved to visit with us. Comfortable and welcoming

Pavel was very communicative and available. The accommodations were comfortable and quiet, perfect after a long day in the city. The apartment was easily accessible and private. The decor created a nice atmosphere, inspiring travel. The check-in and checkout process were easy, and we felt very welcomed.

Great apartment terrific hosts

This is an apartment in the basement of a row house in Washington DC, in a lovely neighborhood. It’s actually a similar house to that which my son owns and only a mile from his. The hosts have taken the basement and turned it into a beautiful one bedroom apartment, that is very comfortable. There’s a full kitchen that’s beautifully. Done a lovely living room, comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The host are terrific people, friendly, helpful, and have an adorable dog. I highly recommend this for you if you are looking for a place to stay in Washington DC.

Great location for downtown stay. Average uber cost round trip to downtown from this location was $60. We were looking forward to meeting Sonya but not this trip. Clean and comfortable. Nice parking for one car.

MiniMoon in DC

My husband and I recently got married and decided to take a mini-moon to DC. Our hosts were very agreeable and accommodating. The weather was extremely cold but we enjoyed being close to DC without being directly in the middle of the city at night. We would recommend staying here to anyone.

So convenient

I brought my three young children to DC as a homeschooling trip and this apartment was so nice to be at. It’s an easy drive into town but far enough outside of downtown to not feel overwhelmed by the amazing of people. If we come back to DC we will be staying here again. It had everything we needed and fit my family nicely. Also their dog Sonya was the BIGGEST hit with my kids. She is the sweetest!!!

Worth the stay!

This was a perfect little place for my family and I to stay while touring DC. It was outside town enough to be quite but close enough to get to where we needed without spending alot of time in the car. Communication with the host were great! They checked in on us by message to make sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything. Was even helpful when we were looking for a place to watch the fireworks. Thank you for having us!

Couldn't Have Asked For a More Perfect Stay

We absolutely loved our stay at Pavel and Sasha's place. It was immaculate. It had everything we needed. They even had metro cards ready for us to use! It was so nice not having to worry about parking on the street. However, we did run into a couple occasions where the alleyway was blocked. Awkward. Overall, we loved the place and would definately stay here again.

Best Host Experience Ever

The apartment was cute and fit our needs perfectly. It was clean, nice, comfortable, and in a great, safe neighborhood. The stand out was our host. Pavel was attentive without being intrusive. We felt comfortable to use the apartment as our own, but we knew he was available if we needed anything. Their dog, Sonya, was a joy to play with, and we enjoyed talking with Pavel when we saw him, but we never felt like we didn't have our privacy or autonomy. They were the perfect hosts, and we truly enjoyed staying with them. We now hope to visit DC and stay with them again in the future!

This pretty apartment was just as pictured and advertised. Clean and neat as a pin, updated kitchen and bath, and pleasantly decorated. Though it was small with minimal natural light (because it is a finished basement), you enter/exit through a lovely private yard complete with flowers & patio/fire pit area. We started and ended our long days touring DC here. Thoughtful touches such as sound machines, extra blankets and pillows, plenty of coffee and cooking necessities made it easy for our family of four to feel comfortable and at home. I cannot stress the cleanliness enough. We have been to some properties that make you feel slightly afraid to get too close to the corners or open that cabinet or closet. Not this house. Clean and cheerful right into the darkest corners. The hosts were highly responsive to communication yet afforded us privacy such that we never knew they were there. Bonus was we got to play with sweet Sonya the golden retriever upon request and once by happenstance. Our kids were delighted! (Note for dog allergies: my husband is allergic to dogs. This apartment has zero evidence that a dog lived upstairs except we could hear her little paws overhead occasionally. Absolutely no issue at all.) Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent apartment

Excellent apartment in Washington DC less than a mile from the metro. Used the apartment as a base of operations while we sight-seed in Washington. Our boys enjoyed the XBox video games. Small kitchen and bathroom, 1 bedroom, couch with pull-out bed. Efficient and clean, just right for our family. Thanks for a wonderful stay in DC.
