While the entire row home has been freshly renovated the English Basement received special attention to provide you with modern amenities, ample space, and plenty of light to make your stay as comfortable as possible! Located in the Northwest Quadrant, Columbia Heights sits right in the middle of some of the city's most active and desirable neighborhoods. This bustling neighborhood is just minutes from some of the best food, shopping, bars, and attractions in the country. One of the greatest luxuries of DC: GREAT public transportation! The Columbia Heights Metro stop is a short 5 minute walk. There are also plenty scooters, bikes, and Uber/Lyft (they are FAST so make sure to be ready when you order it). \- We love and respect our neighbors and our house - please do the same. \- Please, no excessive noise, parties, events. \- Only guests on the reservation may occupy the house. \- Quiet hours are in place from 10pm to 8am. If you enjoy walking a city, The Cellar is a 2 mile walk north to The National Zoo and a 2 mile walk South to the Capital One Center and The Mall. The check-in process was seamless and communication from the host was perfect. We found the apartment to be spotlessly clean and the neighborhood was quite and safe. We were able to find street parking without any trouble, but be sure to note the signs for street sweeping. We found it most convenient to leave our vehocle parked and utilize ride sharing services for getting around. The beds were quite comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied with pans, dishes, and utensils. We also appreciated the generous supply of k-cups for our morning coffee. Two bedrooms, a nice bathroom, laundry facility on site, and a spacious kitchen/living room area. Everything was clean and tidy upon arrival with everything you need for a stay. Washing machine even had pre-loaded detergent, and the bathroom had handy dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Street parking was only tricky on the one day we came back to the home at a fairly late hour-but we were still able to find parking close by. Hosts were very responsive to messages and the whole vibe of the place was excellent. Highly recommend this place. Hmm, people always want to know what can be improved upon. I suppose the pillows were too fluffy for my bad neck (no worries as I had my own because I am always prepared). Yhe biggest travesty of all was that I didnt get to meet the Senior Hostess-being one Great Dane named Calli. There was a lingering cleaner scent when we first checked in, but it aired out quickly once we opened doors and windows. Austin was great at communicating with me, and very quick to answer questions and provide information on street parking.
