The Space: Although this stay feels private and secluded, it's only a 30-minute drive from the vibrant city of Cincinnati and the Arch, so guests can enjoy the best of both worlds. The property boasts modern furnishings and updated fixtures, and its open concept design ensures plenty of space to relax and unwind. Outside is a multi-level deck that boasts a private pool, firepit and seating areas where you can spend hours admiring the beautiful sunset. And to top it off, you have close access to local businesses like cafes, family restaurants, pizza shops, and BBQ, as well as nearby attractions like Ark Encounter and Big Bone Lick State Park and Historic Center. When relaxing at home, your group can spread out amongst the living room and kitchen, which are open to one another. Kick back to enjoy a movie on the smart tv, or make use of the fully equipped kitchen to whip up a delicious meal. Guests can dine casually at the kitchen counter with barstool seating, or spend quality time over a shared meal at the dining table set for 4\. The home provided the essentials: clean beds and bathrooms upon arrival, a functioning air conditioner, and a refreshing pool we enjoyed daily (this is the reason for rounding up to 2/5). However, the property shows signs of neglect and needs more thorough upkeep. Cleaning appeared surface-level—crumbs remained on counters, walls were dirty, and windows were smudged from previous guests. Several furnishings were damaged, including the couch, a drawer to the master bedframe, and the entertainment center looks like it’s going to snap under the TVs weight.The outdoor area was a bigger concern. The deck had overgrown weeds, cushions unusable due to bugs, an active wasp issue (3 nests)—one guest was stung. We noticed rodent droppings in the garage and suspect rodents may be living under the deck. Parts of the fence were falling apart, and piles of scrap wood lined the side of the garage, possibly contributing to the rodent issue. One highlight was the customer service from Grand Welcome. They responded quickly and delivered requested items fast—silverware, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper. That said, if the VRBO was given proper attention, these basics should’ve been stocked before our arrival. Overall, we were grateful to receive the minimum of clean sheets, a roof over our heads, a pool, and faithful air conditioning, but for the price we paid and the quality of our experience, if we had to do it again, we would not stay here. ![Weeds and a mess under the deck. Location was perfect! The house fit us comfortably and the king bed downstairs was so comfortable! We got there and didn’t have dish soap or potholders. Nice, large dining table for meals and games and lots of counter space in the kitchen. Downside for us was that the "master" bedroom with an attached bathroom was in the lower level of the split level home. This room is colder than the rest of the house so that I could not put my parents in there as I had planned. They slept upstairs and shared a bathroom with my 2 teenage boys. The house was great, check in was nice and easy. I sent a text when we ran out of propane they quickly replaced it for us. One of my grandsons got stung 3 times and I got stung once trying to locate the nest. My husband used the hose to get it down. This home was perfect for our two families to share. Everything was clean and as pictured. This was a perfect place for us to stay at. It felt like home as soon as we walked in. There was my family and my parents in our group. The six of us had lots of space to eat and spread out. Each day of our trip was nice as we returned to the pool to cool off and relax. The location was about a half hour from the ark and half hour to the creation museum, so right in the middle. As well as close to the interstate and pretty easy to get to. The small town was friendly and had all we needed for restaurants or groceries. The neighbours were nice and it was a quiet neighbourhood. The glass firetop table was so relaxing and beautiful at the end of the day as it got dark. The first night there was no propane in the tank so I texted right away and that’s all I had to do and the problem was solved. They took care of it with no issues. It was great to know it was that easy to address a concern. It was a great stay. Was even a bonus of having great shampoo available, which was unexpected. Thanks for a great stay, it was nice to have a home for our trip! ##### Ryan L. The location is good for the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter as our family came from all parts of the country to meet up. The pool was great for the kids visiting for a few hours, and there was adequate parking on the street for extra cars. The maximum of the home says 10, but comfortably it fits only 7 adults because it is a smaller home. Not a negative comment, just for FYI. The key pad stopped working on the front door on the morning we were going to the Ark Encounter, but a technician from the mgmt company came out within an hour and repaired it. For those older adults who have issues with steep or narrow stairs, this may not be a place for you. But it worked out fine for us overall...most of the activity is on the upper level and you can just stay in one of the bedrooms there. The bedroom downstairs is very nice and spacious and has the second bathroom in it. Also great is they have two washers and two dryers so the towels and clothes get cleaned quickly. Regarding the bed linens, you may also want to bring your own, as the fitted sheets did not stay down and we dealt with the sheet coming up at night. But all the linens were clean and the house was very clean when we arrived. Thanks to the owners and the management company for overall an enjoyable stay! ##### Carol S.
