"Nice pool , good breakfast, quiet location. Helpful managers, excellent restaurant on site Our room #128: shower head clogged-had to use hand held. Slow drain and small shower cubicle wirh no curtain: flooding on floor everytime we showered . Dont stay in room 128. Our AC kept our room cool, however everyday we would leave and the housekeeper would open the patio doors and leave them unlocked. We reported this to management. Air conditioner from above floor dripped onto our patio right next to...

Agapi Beach Resort - Premium All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent

"Agapi Beach Resort was wonderful for the entire duration of my stay. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Food was fantastic and fresh at every meal and restaurant. The beach is clean and there were always enough chairs for everyone. Property was clean and updated. Events were fun and inclusive, but certain events can not be reserved in the app. Staff members can get you signed up, so speak to one of them if you would like to attend a posted event. The hotel offers shuttle service to and from the airport, paid directly to the taxi company, if you book through Expedia. Contact them and they will organize the shuttles for you. Wifi works best in the main resort areas. If you choose a bungalow, the wifi may be a little spotty, but turning off and back on seemed to reset the connection most of the time. Our party did not have any children, but there were alot of children around and the resort seemed to cater to them well with activities and menu items. Location is maybe a 10 minute drive from the airport and town. There is also a a Hop On Hop Off bus tour station right outside of the resort. We used that to take us into Heraklion and see some sights, and then was returned steps from the resort. Overall, a great experience. I would recommend to anyone, and would gladly stay again!"

Emi Seaside

10/10 Excellent

"Wow! George has set a new benchmark in Cretan hospitality. I have travelled around the globe but Emi Seaside is one of those rare places you feel like your’e visiting a friend’s home. George with his mum and dad were so lovely, kind and went above in beyond to make my stay relaxing. The room was spacious and plotless, great breakfast buffet. The hotel has its own private beach access with sunbeds and umbrellas. When I am in Crete again I am staying here again. ps. Ask George for dining options around the area, he has some amazing recommendations."

Alsus Boutique Hotel

8/10 Good

"The jacuzzi never got hot and the thermal pools were tepid at best. No settings on the television to turn the brightness down. The shampoo and conditioner had clearly been reused over and over even though they were sample bottles. There are buttons on the walls that do nothing like open and close curtain except there's nothing hooked up to the curtain. I'm 5 ft 7 and I weigh 220 lb and I could not fit into your bathrobes which is incredibly sad because half of the men on the planet are bigger than me. There's stuff blocking the entrance between the hotel rooms and the pool and you have to go through the fitness center that was weird especially after tripping over that step three times. Oh and when I ordered the steak they didn't give me a steak knife which made it kind of hard to eat, Especially since it wasn't the softest cut. The staff was incredible The View inside the hotel is incredible the bed is okay the pillows are comfortable the entrance is easy to find and the hotel rooms are not a very far walk. The staff were exceptionally helpful And willing To assist in any way possible Definitely the highlight of the stay. I would recommend it but only at a 3-4 star level."

Civitel Creta Beach

8/10 Good

"9 days B&B Breakfast good with lots of choice. Paid for evening meal once but not worth it so wouldn’t suggest all inclusive. Good beach with lots of free beds & umbrella’s. Pool beds always reserved early so never got to use it but beach good anyway. Beach bungalow could do with updating but was cleaned daily and fresh bedding. Complimentary drinks in room, fridge, storage. Resort clean and tidy. Would recommend."

Paralos Irini Mare

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel location is fantastic, very peaceful, with well kept and beautiful grounds. Food is excellent, staff and service equally so. Whilst the rooms are basic ours was very clean and the swim up pool, whilst shared with two other rooms, felt private. We had a wonderful ten days all inclusive, which was excellent value. We'd 100% return! Not a place to go if you're bothered about watching television 🙂"

Vaya Suites by Omilos Hotels

10/10 Excellent

"L’emplacement est situé dans un secteur un peu passant pour les voitures et scooter. La suite était parfaite, propre et efficace sans oublier le tourbillon à l’extérieur qui était vraiment un plus. Par contre, ils auraient avantage à mettre un set de patio plus confortable puisque qu’avec 2 chaises raide et une petite table ronde, il aurait gagné beaucoup de points….."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Vourvoulitis?

The best area to stay in Vourvoulitis is the village itself, particularly along the main road that runs through it and the adjacent areas offering sea views.

Vourvoulitis is a small, coastal village, known for its tranquil environment and direct access to a quiet, pebble beach. The village is compact, with most accommodations, a few tavernas, and a mini-market situated conveniently close to each other. The main road connects these amenities and provides easy access to the beach.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find Vourvoulitis ideal. The village offers a relaxed pace, with opportunities for quiet beach days and enjoying meals with sea views. It's also well-suited for those who appreciate a less crowded setting than some of the island's busier resorts.

For travellers who enjoy walking and exploring, the area around the beach and the paths leading to nearby coves are perfect.

When is the best time to go to Vourvoulitis?

The best time to go to Vourvoulitis is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to early June or from September to October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm but not excessively hot temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the island without the peak summer crowds. You'll find that the sea is warm enough for swimming, and the natural beauty of the area is at its peak with lush landscapes in spring and a gentle warmth in autumn.

For those looking for a relaxing escape, these periods are superb as the popular attractions are less crowded, and you can enjoy a more peaceful experience. You'll also find that flights and accommodation might offer better value compared to the high summer season.

If you're planning a trip focused on outdoor activities like hiking or exploring ancient sites, the milder temperatures of the shoulder seasons are much more comfortable than the intense heat of July and August.
