![A world of subterranean wonders, a milestone in geological discoveries, Luray caverns, is a wonderful weekend getaway for those who are living near DC or Virginia. It is around 2 hours (or more) drive from washington DC.
This is a picture of the "Dream Lake", a spring of water which has a mirror-like appearance. Stalactites are reflected in the water making them appear to be stalagmites. This gives an illusion that the lake is deeper. The lake is connected to a spring that continues deeper into the caverns.
All in all, it was my first time exploring caverns. It was a fun filled day, learning the stories of the cavern.

Tips: 
1) It is very crowded on weekends and holidays. If you want to enjoy peaceful, slow paced, less crowded tour of the caverns, go on weekdays.
2) If you visit the caverns, look for these things-
Saracen's tent - scarves and shawls of translucent calcite, falling in graceful folds, fringed with a thousand patterns, and so thin that a candle light can reveal the structure within!
The fried eggs formation - yes, it looks like fried eggs ;)
The Great Stalacpipe Organ - An actual organ which plays music- sounds of Stalactites! DO NOT miss this one!

« Wonderful room, with a huge, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The check-in was very quick as we had dinner reservations at the nearby (1-block walk) Inn at Little Washington. The breakfast space was warm and welcoming, with a fruit and granola parfait, followed by a tasty quiche. The White Moose Inn hit all the high points and certainly will be a repeat reservation for a future trip! »

"Tout est sale puanteur..un édifice à détruire le bain ,les rideaux ..j’ai eu peur aux infestations..je n’ai pas osé déposer mes bagages sur le plancher..Nous avons dormi dans notre V R de peur de infester nos bagages . Nous avons utilisé le stationnement pour dormir dans le véhicule.. je ne comprends pas vous êtes associé à cet établissement.c’est à ne rien comprendre !"

Seul bémol le service de navette de l’aéroport pour se rendre à l’hôtel, très complexe de rejoindre le desk et attente de 45 min. dans notre cas nous avons opter pour une autre option ! Pour le retour vers l’aéroport c’était simple et rapide. "
