"Excellent service from the staff - the man at check-in was friendly, polite and very helpful. The room (standard double/twin) was very small but adequate for the one-night stay, as was the bathroom. The price was incredibly low for the facilities, especially as it was in the city centre, so we were very happy with the room, and the bed was very comfortable. If I had been staying for more than a one night stopover, or for a holiday, I would have wanted to upgrade, but it was fine for our needs...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Veľké Kosihy?
The best area to stay in Veľké Kosihy is the village centre, particularly around the main road, Hlavná ulica.

This area offers the most convenience for visitors. Hlavná ulica is where you'll find the local church, a few small shops, and the village's cultural centre. It's the most developed part of Veľké Kosihy, providing easy access to local amenities and a sense of the village's daily life.

For families, staying in the village centre is practical. Accommodation here often includes guesthouses or private rentals with gardens, offering space for children to play. Proximity to the local shops means essentials are always close by, and the quiet nature of the village makes it a relaxing base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will also appreciate the village centre. It provides a relaxed setting away from city life, with opportunities for gentle strolls through the village or along the nearby fields.
When is the best time to go to Veľké Kosihy?
When planning your visit to Veľké Kosihy, the best time to go is during the spring (late April to June) and early autumn (September to early October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather conditions for exploring the region. Spring brings blooming landscapes and comfortable temperatures, ideal for outdoor activities like cycling along the Danube or visiting local vineyards without the intense heat of summer. Early autumn provides mild, sunny days great for sightseeing and enjoying the harvest season, with local markets offering fresh produce.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate the quieter nature of these shoulder seasons. You'll find fewer crowds at local attractions and a more peaceful experience at the thermal baths or while enjoying a leisurely meal at a traditional Slovak restaurant. The gentle weather is great for strolls through the countryside or along the riverbanks.

For travellers interested in cultural experiences and local events, late spring and early autumn often coincide with various regional festivals and wine-tasting events.
