The name, which means 'Land of Vishnu, The Preserver', is located on Temple Land in the quiet village of Penestanan, on the outskirts of Ubud, the cultural hub of Bali. This location is ideal, as you can enjoy both easy access to Ubud, (15 minute walk or $4 taxi ride) but return to your peaceful and quiet villa after your excursions. Built with your enjoyment in mind, Laba Puseh was designed by blending the artistic talents that the Balinese are known for with the natural beauty of the outdoors. The villa is a visual feast for your eyes, as Balinese architectural details have been used throughout the entire property. These details include hand-carved wooden and stone window surrounds, gorgeous hand matted bamboo ceilings, and a coy pond you walk over to reach your front door. More than 1,000 man hours of stone-carved features are artfully placed throughout the property. At night the villa, garden and pool are beautifully lit for your continued pleasure. The villa features two bedrooms with Balinese design four poster beds and furniture. Both bedrooms are fully air conditioned, but you may choose to enjoy the cooling natural breezes and overhead fans-the choice is yours. Each bedroom has its own bath, both showcasing beautiful, stone showers set in decorative, outdoor gardens. In addition to being adorned with beautiful Balinese hand-carved furniture, the living room area also features a fully-equipped entertainment center for your enjoyment. Included for your entertainment pleasure are a flat screen TV with an android box providing Netflix and Prime and a DVD player with an array of both children and adult DVD selections. There is also a small library with a variety of books including various aspects of Balinese culture. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware and appliances, should you wish to prepare some of your own snacks or meals. The dining room features a marbled topped table, although you may choose to sit at the bar, which is adorned with hand-carved, stone features. The true artistic feature of the property is the swimming pool which features an amazing hand-carved sandstone surround which is complimented by water spouting from a replica of a temple fountain head. Next to the pool is an outdoor shower where you can rinse off. Hand woven sun beds and colorful towels complete your pool experience. Bali is known as the Island of the Gods, so it is important to me to both respect and participate in the local spiritual customs. My family Temple and Kemara are located on the property and daily offerings with beautiful hand made baskets, flowers and incense are performed throughout the property. Centrally located in the village of Penestanan, Laba Puseh is set back from the main road and provides quiet and tranquiItiyt from the busy hustle and bustle of the Ubud area. It is a ten minute walk to a variety of restaurants including organic eateries and juice bars, coffee bars and bakeries, and the wonderful local Balinese warungs (restaurants) which abound everywhere and provide flavorful and economical dining. There are also a plethora of restaurants to explore in Ubud. Your vacation villa has access to many other activities which you may find enjoyable. Laba Puseh is directly adjacent to the Star Child Spa, a full treatment spa center, where you can enjoy a relaxing massage, body scrub, flower petal bath, or a selection of half or full day combination packages. A variety of yoga studios and meditation centers are just a short stroll from your front door. There are some beautiful hiking trails nearby including the Camphuan Ridge and Sari Organic Trail. I highly recommend taking wonderful strolls on the beautiful footpaths and lanes that cris cross all over the village, where you will experience villagers going about their daily activities. Walks through the nearby rice fields are always a must also. My Villa Managers are a lovely Balinese couple, Ketut and Made, and they along with your Villa Attendant, Komang, and your personal driver Juli, will take care of you just like family. Juli can provide transfers from the airport or can collect you from another location if you are already in Bali, for an appropriate fee. Juli is also available to take you on a variety of tours including the beautiful temples, amazing rice fields and gorgeous waterfalls. You can also tour the local villages in the Ubud area, all of whom specialize in their own handicrafts-you can find anything from wood and stone carvings, to art galleries and silver jewelry, or beadwork just to name a few. Bali offers a wide variety of activities to choose from, including scuba diving ship wrecks, touring beautiful temples, soaking in hot springs, walking through rice fields, or strolling through museums and art galleries. Whether we were enjoying a morning swim or relaxing in the evening surrounded by the sounds of nature, it was pure bliss.The staff were absolutely amazing—kind, helpful, and always made us feel so welcome. They took such great care of us, from arranging transportation to preparing fresh coconuts for us. Every detail was handled with such warmth and attention.The location was perfect too—just a short walk to Ubud center but far enough away to feel secluded and quiet. One of the best coffee shops we found was just steps from the villa (BKG) and the best breakfast spot was on the other corner (Foodalogy)! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind, reconnect, and celebrate our special day.We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already talking about when we can come back. This typical balinese villa was gorgeous and in a great position in Penestanan. The villa is right in heart of a close spa, few shops and great restaurants & local warungs. Its close to the campunghun ridge walk leading to Tara spa, which was amazing. Visited restaurants such as elemts, la luz and samis, all fabulous food. The team in the villa was great, Arys our driver and guide was full of patience and knowlege, and coman kept villa clean and sorted laundry which was a godsend. We packed far too much but knowing now how easy laundry service is, id travel light. The design of the villa is excellent with open seating area and kitchen and air conditioned bedrooms with lovely open air bathrooms.. perhaps a little timely refresh of some of the furnishings and kitchen would be good. Would recommend a short stop here 5-8 days as part of a bigger trip rather than 2 weeks as we did as traveling takes so long due to the congestion on the roads which limits your ability to explore it all from this one stop. However despite being outside the main centre of Ubud there were so many coffee shops and great restaurants nearby as well as an excellent spa and massage business next door. The villa was well equipped and nicely decorated. The pool and garden were beautiful. The outdoor garden en suite bathrooms were a nice touch. Komang kept everything clean and today every day. The bedrooms were nice with traditional aspects, four poster beds and mosquito netting. Air con worked very well in the bedrooms. I found the bed mattress a little too hard but that is a personal preference. I would add a couple more comfortable arm chairs in the lounge area and more cooking equipment in the kitchen, like a larger fry pan as that would be useful for those who like to self cater occasionally. ##### Frances A. Location is very convenient to Alchemy, the back lanes of Penestanan, and not too far to get to Bintang supermarket or Nuri's. Not large - but containing everything that we needed. Property is private and generally quiet, and with the loveliest of pools. Komang was also very helpful. One piece of advice: use the transport provided by Ketut and team. Roads in the area can be designated one-way at times, which will add time to Go / Grab drivers getting to you, and the staff will get you where you need to be, on time and in comfort. Having the 2 separate bedrooms were perfect for myself and grandgirls. The pool was very refreshing even for an evening swim. All you hear at night is the forest nightlife and what you hear in the morning is the forest waking up with various sounds of birds. You also wake to hearing meditation sounds that start at 0800 apprx. and lasts for about an hour or so. Very meditative sound for relaxation. Housekeeping is done daily with exception detail. You can hire the driver as well and we had an exceptionally excellent driver "Kadek". Request him and you will be thankful you did. We came to Bali as guests and we left feeling like family. Villa Puseh was exactly what I was searching for to honor my late husbands 1 year passing. We also loved the location with lots of great restaurants just steps away, a fancy coffee place out the front, and a massage place that we visited twice.
