Our stay at Castlehackett House was made even more special by Aiden, wtho brought us a wonderful breakfast but, more importantly, shared with us his love and knowledge of Irish culture and history

The most gorgeous place very clean and Aiden was a great and helpful host. The only thing I would add is a microwave in the dining area for guest in the evening. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. Loved this place would stay again.

Aiden served breakfast in the dining area. He was delightful. He gave us some excellent advice on our next area we were traveling to in Ireland. Beautiful home loved hearing the history of the home. Great location too.

Filled with History!
We stayed for two nights and had a lovely, peaceful time. The food was delicious, prepared by Joyce, and we got a ton of advice and insight about the area and Ireland in general from Aidan. They were very friendly and welcoming, and the house and grounds are gorgeous and steeped in Irish history. If we ever come back to Tuam, we'd happily stay again!

Our hosts were wonderful. Aiden was so personable and a wealth of information. We didn’t see Joyce so much, but her work in the kitchen was exceptional. I tried the yoga room (like no other!) but there wasn’t a class while I was there. The grounds are beautiful

We stayed in the Friar Room.
Joyce is super responsive and easy to communicate with. At the last minute, we decided to cancel our rental car and travel using tour companies instead. It can be difficult to get to and from this property without your own vehicle, so I would only recommend staying here if you have a car.
I believe the building is around 300 years old and has a lot of character. The property is clean and well maintained, and it’s run by Joyce and another gentleman. He is an absolute sweetheart and provided excellent service throughout our stay.
I wouldn’t consider this a luxury stay. The rooms are a little dated, although the bed was very comfortable.
We took a short walk from the property to visit Hackett Castle, which was a nice bonus. Overall, I’d recommend staying here if it’s already along your route, but I wouldn’t go out of your way to stay here specifically.
