Stayed here for two nights while visiting Bath. Loved the room (named "Jake") with its compact space and the layout between the room and the bathroom. You just can't get places that have character like this in the States. Ate dinner both nights in the restaurant which was very good. On both nights (weeknights) the restaurant was full. The venison pie was outstanding. Opting for something more healthy my wife and I chose the porridge with local honey the first morning and repeated the same on our second day breakfast because it is excellent. Friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We met friends and family for dinner and the food was good. We stayed in the annex which was clean and comfortable albeit the room was small and the single beds were quite narrow so need to check on booking if singles are required and sizes of doubles. Excellent clean bathroom with good big walk in shower. It was quite with little noise from traffic. I booked a double with breakfast but ended up with two singles. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 so didn’t get that either as I had to be at work for 8\.
