"Lovely place, just off a main road so a handy break in my trip from Poprad Tatry Airport to Hlinne. Staff were friendly and helpful - and they spoke English, which was a definite advantage for me. They also have English menus. My previous stay, somewhere with no English menus or speakers, wasn't pleasant, but this stay was. Before anyone comments. I was in their country so they didn't have to speak English or have English menus - but it helps. "

Top Tročany Hotel Reviews

Boutique Hotel Carpe Diem

Boutique Hotel Carpe Diem

8/10 Good
"This is a pretty boutique hotel, and we had a very nice room and bathroom. We didn't have any hand soap or body wash for the shower--I am sure they just forgot-- but the room had nice amenities, such as a minibar, easy to use plugs, big towels, plenty of light, all in all it was clean and comfortable. There is an elevator inside, but this is simply not an accessible building--even with the elevator, there are places with steps, and up to the front entrance is a good set of stone stairs! There is off street parking at the hotel, but it is at a pretty serious incline, and it is NOT easy to get out of. Mostly one has to back out, down the hill. Helpful staff, a nice breakfast, decent location near a lot of places to eat. We had a very pleasant stay."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tročany?
The best area to stay in Tročany is within the village centre, particularly around the main road, for convenience and access to local amenities.

This area is the heart of Tročany, offering a quiet and authentic experience of rural Slovak life. You'll find the local church, the municipal office, and a few small shops dotted along the main thoroughfare. The village is small and easily walkable, with properties often featuring gardens and traditional architecture.

For families, staying in the village centre provides a comfortable base. Many properties here are guesthouses or private rentals, offering more space than a typical hotel room. Children will enjoy the open spaces and the chance to experience a different way of life, perhaps even seeing farm animals nearby. The peaceful surroundings are ideal for a relaxing family holiday.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will also find the village centre appealing. It's a wonderful place to unwind, take leisurely strolls, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Prešov Region.
When is the best time to go to Tročany?
The best time to visit Tročany is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is generally mild and pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll avoid the hotter temperatures of mid-summer and the colder, potentially snowy conditions of winter. The natural beauty of the Prešov Region is particularly appealing in these shoulder seasons, with blooming flowers in spring and colourful foliage in autumn.

For those interested in hiking or cycling, late spring and early autumn offer comfortable conditions without the summer crowds. The trails around the Ondava Highlands are easily accessible, and you'll find the air crisp and clear, superb for enjoying the panoramic views.

Families might find the late spring especially enjoyable as the longer daylight hours allow for more time outdoors, and the local farms and orchards are often beginning to produce their seasonal offerings.
