Hotel Idou Tiznit

Hotel Idou Tiznit

10/10 Excellent
"I have just spent a week here, and the staff are truly such a big asset to this property, nothing was ever too much trouble, I was always acknowledged and spoken too so nicely. The Breakfast was always well set out, and the offering of a freshly cooked omelette daily was hard to resist! The location is handy very close to a supermarket, and a short walk to the Souks, the CTM bus is just across the road a little, and getting around was easy. My air conditioner was a little noisy, but the breeze from the sliding doors was much more appreciated. This is an older property at a small price, that really tries so hard to please, I would suggest you overlook the age, because all the lovely staff need their jobs...Oh and the beetroot juice at breakfast was my favorite!!!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tighmi?
The best area to stay in Tighmi is within the historical kasbah complex itself, particularly around the central square and the main souk (market).

This area forms the heart of Tighmi, offering a truly authentic experience. It's characterised by its traditional mud-brick architecture, narrow winding alleys, and the bustling daily life of the local market. The central square is a natural gathering point, often hosting local events and providing easy access to small, family-run eateries.

For couples seeking a unique cultural experience, staying within the kasbah is ideal. You'll be right at the centre of local life, with opportunities to explore traditional crafts, enjoy Moroccan tea at a local café, and witness the daily rhythms of the community. It's a very atmospheric place to wander through and discover hidden courtyards.

Solo travellers will also find the kasbah an excellent base. Its compact nature means everything is within easy walking distance, making it simple to explore without needing transport.
When is the best time to go to Tighmi?
The best time to visit Tighmi is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, without the intense heat of summer. Average daytime temperatures range from 20°C to 28°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking in the nearby Atlas Mountains or exploring the local souks. The evenings are generally mild, great for enjoying a meal outdoors.

For those keen on exploring the natural beauty of the Souss region, including its argan groves and traditional villages, spring offers the added bonus of blooming wildflowers. This makes for particularly scenic drives and walks. Autumn, meanwhile, provides comfortable conditions for longer excursions into the desert fringes or for visiting historical sites without the larger crowds often seen in peak summer.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find these seasons particularly appealing. The comfortable climate allows for leisurely days by the pool, enjoying the tranquility of the region, or taking romantic strolls through the palm groves.
