Bella Vista del Mar is located on the 'Gold Coast' of Costa Rica which is considered to be the prime area in Costa Rica to vacation. Our town home is in the town of Potrero in an upscale, gated community called Villas Catalina, a small complex of 11 homes. Villas Catalina is on Camino Las Catalina, across the street from two gorgeous beaches, Playa Penca and Playa Prieta, both voted in the top five most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Our home is located on a two lane paved country road. Our elegant town home blends spacious living, comfort and luxury with magnificent views of Flamingo and Potrero Bay, Playa Penca, Playa Prieta, and incredible Pacific sunsets. Sitting on our wrap-around terrace watching a beautiful sunset with the waves crashing in the background makes time stand still. The shared infinity pool also has a breathtaking panoramic view of the coastline. Our two story home has been tastefully decorated to reflect the Costa Rican culture. All of our furniture has been handmade by Costa Rican craftsman. It has granite and marble counter tops throughout and has all the amenities to make your stay very comfortable. Our gourmet kitchen has just about everything you would need to cook a wonderful meal. The main level includes the living room, dining room, large gourmet kitchen, large outside deck and patio with a beautiful view of the ocean as well as a full bath and bedroom with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds that can easily accommodate adults. The lower level has a spacious primary suite with a king size bed and an attached private bathroom. Also on this level is a second bedroom with a queen bed and attached private bathroom. All the bedrooms have a nice ocean view. A laundry room is also on this floor with washer, dryer and second refrigerator/freezer. All rooms are air conditioned. Our home is a non-smoking home. The home has a high definition TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime access, DVD player, CD player, full stereo with inside and outside speakers and surround sound, high speed Internet and telephone. Each room is equipped with an Ethernet port as well for internet access. The Sony sound system is smart-phone ready with Bluetooth connection capability. The beautiful shared infinity pool with spa has two bathrooms/showers and a barbecue for your use. The pool area is equipped with two tables and eight sitting chairs as well as multiple padded lounge chairs. There is an unheated spa as well. The views from the pool are a spectacular panoramic view of the entire coastline and Flamingo Bay. It is a great location to watch the sunset! Bella Vista del Mar is VERY close to the beach... A quick walk to two beautiful secluded beaches. Our home sits on a hill overlooking Flamingo Bay. Just down from that hill is the ocean. Literally it is a 3-5 minute leisurely walk to two beautiful beaches. Playa Penca is a beautiful white sand beach in Flamingo Bay which is quite shallow for a long way out great for children, sunbathing, skim boarding and swimming. Playa Prieta is the same distance and has lots of great shade and big rolling waves for body surfing. Both beaches have been voted in the top five most gorgeous beaches in Costa Rica. There is some traffic on the road in front of our home to the Las Catalinas development several miles down the road. The holiday season and the peak winter months are the busiest season. Our complex does sit up on a hill to allow for the beautiful ocean views. There are stairs to climb from the parking area to get to our front door. The shared infinity pool is located on the upper level of our small complex to capture the amazing views and does require a walk uphill. Photos of the stairs up to the pool are included in the photos of our home. Our home is equipped with a keyless front door lock so that you can come and go with ease. We also have a safe in the first floor bedroom to store your valuables. If you are traveling with small children, we do now offer a Baby Bundle rental package for $75 which includes a 4 Moms Portable Crib, an Upseat Highchair and a Mesh Child Safety Gate for the stairwell. The view is amazing and we loved morning coffee on the balcony each morning. The town was close enough that we could walk to a restaurant but a golf cart or car is needed for other activities. The pool is a beautiful sunset spot. It was a little loud as the unit is just above the street but with the AC and fan on at night it isn’t too bad. The kitchen was well-equipped, the pool offered stunning views, and the beach was conveniently close - ideal for family outings. Walking distance to beaches, hiking trails and market. The sunsets from the pool were incredible. The rooms were large, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had just about everything you could need. We loved walking to the beaches and spent a lot of time at the pool enjoying the amazing views. The town of Potrero is lovely and within walking distance. We went several times a week to the bakery (El Patio Panaderia) and fruit stand (across from the square). Both were amazing! The only draw back is the busy road in front of the unit with lots of construction vehicles going by. We knew about this when we booked so it wasn't a surprise. ##### Sue R. Huge, kitchen with all the pots/pans/dishware that you might need for a self-catering stay. The complex pool is spectacular. A short drive to several nice restaurants. We loved how roomy the house was, never feeling crowded and the deck was our favorite hangout spot. We all enjoyed the quick walks to the beach and the pool. We will definitely want to come again. It does need a bit of tlc to freshen the place up. The only irritation was the new construction development in the area. The property is exactly as described. Her beautiful home was completely equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. Views from the infinity pool were beyond spectacular. Had a couple of minor incidents during our stay but Tony from Krain management took care of things in less than 24hrs. Beaches are close by but so is the road and the traffic is very loud. ##### Nancy V. Enjoyed the clean and spacious home for 10 days with a family of four adults. Enjoyed exploring the many beaches and local restaurants. Did some zip lining and a boat tour of the national park and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets from the balcony. There are A-LOT of steps..fortunately our son was there to help we seniors with the luggage. We would have had trouble on our own. ##### Chris C. The property is very nice and well equipped. There were 5 adults in our party and there was plenty of room. The pool is a bit of a walk but well worth it, the views are amazing. We really enjoyed our time spent hanging out at the pool. The location of the house is great. The 2 beaches that are close to the house are very nice and were not crowded. It is also close to several great restaurants. The binder in the property has great restaurant suggestions. Our children went surfing and horseback riding and Allan (property manager) did an amazing job of booking things for us. We had a great stay and highly recommend this property. ##### Steve B. Super close to several gorgeous beaches and lots of cute shops/restaurants. The owner and management were easy to communicate with. At the top level is a small but wonderful infinity pool. Descending the hill are two rows of townhouses. This townhouse is on the lower row and is assigned only one outside parking space. Tony Gonzales with Karin realty was SO helpful that he made our stay just perfect. The house itself is as described and has a wonderful ocean view. There are many beaches nearby. The place suited just perfectly! We spent mornings and evening on the deck. We cooked several meals and found the kitchen to exceptionally well equipped with everything we could possibly have needed. All three bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Air conditioners worked well. We loved walking down to the beaches, through the area of local homes.
