This cozy and upgraded 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo is in sought after BUILDING 5 at OCEAN POINTE SUITES. The Space: Building 5 is the closest to the POOL with its newly re opened Pool Bar, MARINA and BEACH. Enjoy SWEEPING OCEAN AND MARINA views from one of the two balconies while sipping your morning coffee or tea, and your evening cocktail or mocktail. Nature lover? There is an Osprey nest just a couple of hundred yards away from the balcony off the Living Room! This is not your average vacation accommodation. The quality furnishings and upgraded decor gives the feeling of home! Sleep comfortably in the king bed in the master bedroom that has a flat screen TV, private oceanfront balcony and an updated, en-suite bath with a large, tiled shower with frameless glass doors and easy step-in access. The guest bedroom has twin beds and guest bath has a tub/shower combination, beautiful glass tiled floor and marble-topped vanity. The kitchen is fully equipped and was renovated with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops and bar top which seats three. It is open to the dining and living area so the cook doesn't miss a thing! Getting Around: DRIVING DIRECTIONS If you are arriving via car and have a GPS / SatNav system in the car, please use 500 Burton Drive, Tavernier, Florida as the address. If you do not have a GPS device, you can find us from the mainland by taking the Florida Turnpike south to Exit 4 - Homestead/Key West. This is the Turnpike Extension that will connect you to Route US 1 in Florida City, which takes you through the Keys to Key West at the very end of US 1. Please be aware that speed limits throughout the Florida Keys are strictly enforced. Driving Route 1 to Key West is one of the most beautiful drives there so TAKE YOUR TIME. Please be especially careful through the Big Pine Key area as this is a Key Deer Refuge. Speed limits are reduced in this area. You can reach Ocean Pointe by following Route 1 south from Homestead, over the 20-mile causeway, past Key Largo and making a left onto Burton Drive at mile marker 92.5, just before the Circle K convenience store and Dairy Queen in the median. Ocean Pointe is approximately half mile down Burton drive on your right. GETTING HERE WITHOUT A CAR We understand that some of you will be traveling without a car. We would not recommend this, as there are many places to visit, and it could be significantly more expensive. Ride share apps such as Lyft and Uber are available in the area. Some possibilities to explore: KEYS AIRPORT SHUTTLE provides daily door to door shuttle service to and from Key West & the Florida Keys & Miami & Ft Lauderdale airports. The GREYHOUND KEYS SHUTTLE has daily scheduled departures from the Miami Airport to all areas in the Keys. CAR PARKING Parking is provided for two cars on site and is easily accessible to the unit. Please be aware that all guests must be registered prior to coming, and the plate numbers of cars provided. (Note: maximum beam 9’6”) • Jet Skis, Wave runners, Sea Doo's or other PWC are not allowed on property or in the marina at any time. BEACHES The Florida Keys isn’t really known for its vast beaches. We are a series of islands made up of coral rock. We do have some small beaches that are accessible but they are nothing like the beaches you will find on the west coast of Florida or the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area. The closest public beach is Anne’s Beach which is in south Islamorada. The best way to experience the Keys is to get out on the water. We have world class boating, diving, snorkeling, and kayaking! It has a beautiful view of the marina and ocean and the birds nest (I loved to listen to the birds in the morning on the balcony). It was very close to everything. The pool area with a large jacuzzi was clean and not crowded in the morning. The staff was extremely friendly with most notably bartender's Wally and Tara. I felt safe there. We were pretty cetrally located to everything we planned to do in Key Largo. We were also isolated enough to not have to deal with the hustle and bustle of the main roads, but close to stores, restaurants, and gas stations. It is a third floor unit and the elevator was out of service for the first 4 days of our 5 day visit. I have mobility difficulties. The stairs were a great issue for me. Causing me unnecessary pain during my vacation. No accommodations were offered by the host. When we checked in guest room tv was inoperable. The condo was really nice, was ideal for our family of 5\. We were able to access the private beach everyday and plenty of space to relax in the evening. it just had 2 major flaws. The internet didn’t work for 7 full days. No matter what we did, we had no luck. When we called the property management company we were told the internet is spotty on the island. After speaking with numerous people, that isn’t the case and we fully assume this condo has no internet. My husband works remotely and we had to use our cell phone hot spot to simply just get TV on in the evening. The mattress in the master was terrible. By the 3rd night, my husband and I were sleeping in the pull out couch. When a couch is more comfortable that should you something. ##### Judea O. We really enjoyed the condo and the property. Our boys LOVED fishing in the marina area. Our daughter loved the pool. We used the tennis courts a few times. Some quirks - being located right across from the trash shoot was not wonderful. We were woken up several times by loud people in the hallway. One night around 2am someone was throwing glass bottles down the trash shoot. The front door lets lots of noise in, since it isn't a solid door (plexiglass window). Kitchen was well stocked. I was thankful that the floors were clean! We remove our shoes at the front door always when at home or away from home. It is nice when our white socks stay white while on vacation! Everything else was very clean. No issues at all. Overall a really nice place. We could see coming back. Everyone I talked to was very friendly and helpful. We would rent through Barefeet again, so I would definitely recommend Barefeet rentals to our family and friends. We didn't have any problems. That all felt confusing and the hours weren’t great. Also, the guy at the gate didn’t have our information and wouldn’t let us past security. We spent about 20 or 30 minutes making phone calls to get approval from barefoot rentals to go through so we could make it past the security guard.
