"We thoroughly enjoyed the pools, we used 2 of the 3. We ate at all of the restaurants in the resort, and the food was delicious. We stayed in a room with a king size bed and the sofa bed. The sofa bed was not as comfortable. But the king size bed was massive! the balcony was also beautiful. There was a group checking in right before us, so the check in time took a while."

Borj Des Cascades

Borj Des Cascades

10/10 Excellent
"We booked this hotel because of its proximity to Ouzoud Falls, and the view from our room overlooking the waterfalls was absolutely breathtaking! The room was beautifully decorated, but unfortunately, there was a strong sewage odor coming from the bathroom. Thankfully, the bathroom was separate from the bedroom, so we kept the door closed after each use to minimize the smell. Aside from this issue, we had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We especially loved the hotel's location in the heart of a traditional Berber village. The hotel also offered local tours, and we enjoyed a memorable donkey ride through the mountains and surrounding areas. Despite the bathroom odor, we truly enjoyed our stay. The spectacular views, warm hospitality, and unique cultural experiences made it a memorable visit!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Taounza?
The best area to stay in Taounza is generally within the main village itself, or in one of the guesthouses located in the surrounding Atlas Mountains.

The village of Taounza is small and offers a concentrated experience. You'll find local shops, a market area, and the central mosque. Accommodation here tends to be traditional guesthouses, often built in the local style, providing an authentic local experience. It's a good base for exploring the immediate area on foot.

For couples seeking a tranquil retreat with stunning views, staying in a guesthouse slightly outside the main village, higher up in the mountains, is ideal. These properties often feature terraces with panoramic vistas of the valleys and peaks, and provide a peaceful setting for relaxation. Many offer home-cooked meals using local ingredients.

Solo travellers looking for an active holiday will find the village a convenient starting point for guided hikes and treks into the surrounding mountains.
When is the best time to go to Taounza?
The best time to go to Taounza is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with warm days and cool evenings, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. You'll find the landscape lush and green in spring, while autumn provides comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities without the summer heat.

For travellers interested in hiking and outdoor pursuits, spring and autumn are particularly suitable. The trails around Taounza, leading to waterfalls and through the Atlas Mountains, are more enjoyable when the temperatures are mild.

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy.
