"The rooms were big and spacious that I've ever stayed thus far. It had nice views. However, looking at the condition of the resort, it needs a makeover. It has not lift which was fine if your luggage were not heavy. But it will be dangerous if you are staying at the second floor and have heavy luggage."

Monopoli Hotel Bukittinggi

Monopoli Hotel Bukittinggi

10/10 Excellent
"Great location, excellent staff, good restaurant, facilities OK. Hotel maintenance could be a bit better. Room next to busy road, substantial traffic noise, especially early evening. Inflexible when amending booking, ie wanted to charge more than original booking when reducing stay by one day."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tabek Patah?
The best area to stay in Tabek Patah is generally within the main village itself, particularly around the central market and the primary road that runs through it.

This area offers the most convenience, with easy access to local eateries, small shops, and the daily rhythm of village life. You'll find a few guesthouses and homestays here, often family-run, providing a genuine local experience. The village is relatively compact, making it easy to get around on foot.

For travellers seeking a quiet retreat and a connection to nature, staying in one of the guesthouses located slightly outside the main village, closer to the rice paddies or the river, is an excellent option. These locations offer stunning views and a more secluded feel, superb for those wanting to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
When is the best time to go to Tabek Patah?
The best time to go to Tabek Patah is generally during the dry season, which runs from May to September.

During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and more sunshine, making outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the region much more enjoyable. This period is ideal for visiting attractions such as the nearby Lake Singkarak or hiking in the surrounding hills, as paths will be drier and views clearer.

Couples often find this time particularly suitable for a romantic getaway, as the pleasant weather allows for leisurely strolls through tea plantations or enjoying scenic drives without the interruption of heavy downpours. The drier conditions also make it easier to visit local villages and experience the culture.

For those looking for a relaxing escape, the dry season offers comfortable temperatures and clearer skies, superb for enjoying the peaceful environment and the stunning landscapes Tabek Patah is known for.
