"A Blue Monkey" is an updated, open floor plan, Ocean Front Home in the exclusive gated community of Holden Beach West. This home offers 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, Dune Front Private Pool & Hot Tub, and some of the most spectacular Atlantic & Intracoastal Views on Holden Beach. This home underwent renovations that resulted in an open and light filled home with an inverted floor plan that offers a panoramic view of the Beach, Natural Dunes and Ocean from the Open Living, Dining and Kitchen area. Multiple covered and open decks offer various unobstructed views all around, including the coastal marshlands toward the Intracoastal. A large private pool & hot tub area rests just off the dune and offers plenty of space for play and relaxation. Just off the pool area, a short boardwalk stroll across the dunes puts you at the water's edge within minutes!

Swimming pools are open each year from April 15 thru October 15. Pool heating is not available for this home. Pools are cleaned prior to arrival, and also cleaned mid-stay for 7 night rentals.

Great location and house

We loved our stay!!! House and pool were bigger than expected. Everyone in town was so nice and welcoming. Very quiet beach!!! Highly recommend

Comfortable Stay

A Blue Monkey was a comfortable rental. Plenty of space for my family. The private pool was wonderful. Quiet community as well.

Great location for private family

We love Holden Beach! The location of the house is at the end of the island so it is super private. The pool was great but the pool furniture was in rough shape. The house could use some TLC. Small fixes and improvements could go a long way but the house was clean enough for us and we had a great trip!

Blue monkey

Just returned from 1week vacation at Holden Beach for first time. Beach town was small but clean. Several nice restaurants. House location was at far end of island which made the beach much less crowded. Beautiful beach and dunes and sunsets. House was spacious but furniture old. Deck furniture was falling apart. Kitchen very well stocked. Would definitely return.

Easter Weekend

Very nice, nice family neighborhood. Wonderful beach, pool and hot tub. Need to update the shower heads in all the showers. water does not come out evenly or with pressure. Need better patio furniture.

Private and peaceful getaway

The house was in a gated community, the pool and view were fantastic. Furniture was comfy and homey. The house was clean and check in / check out process was easy with electric keypad lock. We did have to bring our own bath and beach towels, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, soap, toiletries, laundry detergent, cooking supplies, spices etc so just be prepared to stock on supplies! Overall, was a great house with plenty of rooms and baths for 5 girlfriends.

Blue Monkey

Everything was clean. The area that we stayed in was quiet and peaceful. My problem was that it looked like it had prior damage but that was minor. And the hand rail in the pool was definitely something that should be repaired.

Love Holden Beach

By far the best part of this house is the view from the main living area! Stayed of this property for a family vacation and birthday celebration. Our family had plenty of room especially with each bedroom having its own bathroom. Great/fast communication with Property Management. Very clean throughout.

Exceeded all Expectations

When we booked A Blue Monkey for our family vacation (6 adults, 2 boys - 7 and 8 yrs old), we knew we found a great spot suitable for all of us - the pool and the beach for the kids, the porches for the parents and grandparents, etc. All our expectations were exceeded - the house was immaculately clean and larger than it looks in the pictures. The location at the end of Ocean Blvd in a gated area with very few homes nearby was perfect - the beaches were very quiet and open. We found shells, held hermit crabs and sand crabs, walked out on the sandbar at the inlet at low tide, caught bass and blues from the shore, pet sharks and horse-shoe crabs at the pier. The only negative is that we couldn't stay longer! Amazing place that we would book again in a heartbeat. Proactive Vacations was great to work with, too - they were incredibly responsive to our questions and gave us a lot of guidance about our stay.

Loved the whole trip. House was great and loved the pool and hot tub. Plenty of TV’s which means a lot with large family and some rainy days. Kitchen well supplied. Would stay here again. First time at Holden and enjoyed the laid back beach. No wait while eating out.

Wonderful

4 bedrooms - 4 on suites! Large gathering room. Great AC (it was hot outside). Pool was fabulous. Short walk on board walk and you are at the beach. The views from both levels were sea, sea, and sea. Thanks for a great family vacation

Great house!

Nice to have a bathroom for each bedroom. The house was very clean. The pool and hot tub were great. Quiet neighborhood for kids to ride bikes. Longer walk to the beach but worth it because the beach was very private.

Great spot!

Nicely updated house that is very well and comfortably appointed. The pool is spotless; Dune & Ocean views are vast and secluded. Other people are around but you have a real sense of privacy. We’ll rent again.
