The cottage is lovely and very comfortable. Since we were in the area to tour local wineries, the location was perfect. The floor plan is perfect for 2 couples as there are 2 separate bathrooms. The outdoor space is very inviting, especially the fire pits outside the tasting room of Golden Road Winery. BTW - we enjoyed out wine tasting experience at their winery. The village of Elkin is very quaint with some good restaurants. There was a fall festival in Elkin and Mt. Airy the weekend of our visit. The cottage is decorated very modern and nice, and very clean, with a great elevated deck overlooking woodlands. The wine tasting room is a very short walk out of the front door. The wines are very tasty ( we didn’t find one that we didn’t like), made with some unique grapes, producing some flavors that we hadn’t experienced in the past. The firepit located in the front yard of the tasting room overlooks the vineyard and the woodlands, making for a very relaxing experience.
