The cottage was built circa 1896 by the Forgan family who in the late 1800s were one of the leading golf club manufacturers based in St Andrews. The cottage was modernised in 2012 and has recently undergone major refurbishment in 2022 with new basement utility area, new decor, furnishings and flooring in all the bedrooms, and new flooring throughout the rest of the cottage. The bright living/dining area looks out onto the back garden and the path along the Kinness Burn can be accessed through the rear garden gate. All bedrooms have superking size beds, and can all be converted to twin beds. The large centrally heated basement has been fully modernised with new units and flooring this year. There is a new washing machine, tumble dryer, additional integrated fridge and freezer, wine chiller fridge and specially designed space for your dog. Best of all was the location - just a 5-10 minute walk to virtually all of St. Andrew's, especially fun via Louden's Close and Lad's Brae - 2 little waling paths that have a very 'secret garden' kind of feel. The Graham’s are excellent hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay a very memorable one. The cottage is in an excellent location (easy walking to Attractions and Pub’s) within the town of St. Andrews. It is very nicely decorated and very comfortable as it has been totally refurbished. The only inconvenience is that it has one shower and the lighting in the shower room is dim. A quick upgrade to LED Soft white will do the trick. Nevertheless, there is a creek that flows behind the property that is idealic and the walk into town through the Briar path is a storybook experience. Will 100% stay here again. The location was fabulous for all that St Andrews has to offer. The house was very comfortable and beds wonderful. Kitchen was small but still very functional. A lovely back garden beautifully planted, so pretty.
