Offering a beautiful four bedroom home with huge north facing deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean on which you can soak up the sun all day long, it boasts beautiful views of the Macleay coastline, river, the Great Dividing Range and is a great place to get away from everything, set on beautiful private acreage in South West Rocks, a short 3km drive to the main beaches South West Rocks and township area with shops cafes and restaurants or 500m down to the river to throw a line in and relax or to the Riverside Tavern for dinner. Please note this property has a fishpond and stairs and is not suitable for small children. Carport with room for 2 cars and plenty of room to park your boat as well. Entering from the double carport past the fishpond and woodfired pizza oven in a sheltered outdoor area you will find yourself on the top level of this very well equipped home boasting open plan living area with open fireplace dining area, large kitchen with dishwasher, screened outdoor area, huge deck, two main bedrooms, large bathroom with corner spa bath. We are sure you will spend most of your time out on the deck taking in the beautiful coastal views and sunsets over the Macleay River. Wandering downstairs you will enter the cinema room with surround sound, projector, DVD player and comfy chairs to relax on while watching your movies. Off the cinema room are another large bedroom, a bunkroom and a large bathroom /laundry with washer and dryer. Spend your holiday relaxing at Tallowood, watch the birds and kangaroos play in the yard from the deck or as you wander around the grounds yourself enjoying the peace and quiet. Please Note: 'Tallowood' requires payment of a $250 refundable security deposit. A post departure inspection is required before funds are released. Linen is not supplied in this holiday letting so you will need to bring your own-sheets, pillowcases, towels, tea towels & tablecloths. You will also need to provide your own toilet paper, soap & dish washing liquid etc. If you do not wish to bring linen, you will receive the contact details for the linen hire firms in your confirmation email. A South West Rocks Accommodation holiday offers the perfect escape from the fast pace of modern life. This charming coastal town, located on the mid-north coast near the mouth of the Macleay River, is about a 5 hour drive from both Sydney and Brisbane. South West Rocks boasts eight stunning white sandy beaches, making it a haven for beach lovers, or if being under water is your thing, enjoy some of Australia’s best scuba diving spots. The town is also home to a modern Country Club with bowling greens, tennis courts, and an 18-hole golf course. Within the Arakoon State Recreation Area, you'll find the historic Trial Bay Gaol. Please note this property is not to be booked or used as a 'Party House' Recent Reviews This grand, architecturally designed country house, built almost entirely of beautiful timber, must be one of the best located coastal properties in NSW. Positioned high on hill, it's very private, and has breathtaking views up the coast and across the Macleay River estuaries to the mountains. It was very comfortably and interestingly furnished and the kitchen well equipped to a very high level. Beds were very comfortable (but we brought our own linen.) The huge balcony was a sensational spot to have breakfast in the morning sun or to watch the sunset and the kangaroos on the lawn below. For all of us (3 couples) it was unquestionably the most memorable holiday house we have ever stayed in, and we probably will be back next year. Thoroughly recommended. Stephen Dates: 12-16/03/19 What a beautiful home to rent for a group or family. I had been coming to South West Rocks as a child with the family when I was young but this home was something else, really special. Perfect for the group my partner and I were traveling with; there was heaps of room with lots of bedrooms and ample beds, bathrooms and a huge kitchen. From the moment we drove up the driveway you felt like this was an architects dream amongst the Aussie bush. The timber structure, highlighted with sandstone fireplace was amazing, all with a backdrop of the bush, local kangaroos, Macleay River and the ocean in the background. The kids loved watching there movies in the home theatre downstairs whilst we were able to enjoy dinner looking over the garden with the sun setting over the river. Coming up to this place was like our own retreat, operating on our time and really having the chance to relax amazing! We’re so excited , drove from Sydney to southwest rocks and got there at 11am . We called the real estate on the way up in the car to say we were arriving early and was it possible to get the keys as it says that’s an option if no one is renting the place that day . The receptionist was so rude on the phone to us and said no you can’t there are people there checking out and cleaners going there to clean the property so we would have to wait until 1pm . So that’s what we did we waited with 5 kids to get the keys and when we walked in at 12.50 pm To collect them we were greeted so rudely by the receptionist , she pretty much threw the keys on the desk and barked like a dog at us !! Reason not known but found out later she is know for being like that ! Anyways we found our own way up to the place after some help from locals and an old lady who helped us open a private gate that we had no idea about or even if it was the right place ! , it was perfect , best view etc but then we went to put the fire on and there was no fire wood , then we started to look around and you could tell no one had been there for ages ! So we had been lied to about the cleaners being there while we waiting in the morning ! Then on Saturday we lose all water 💦 No Taps no showeres no water working at all . We decided to go down the beach and have a swim and then see if it came back on later . Then Saturday night it still wasn’t on so we had a look around and it seemed like the little old pump that is servicing the whole place wasn’t working . As it was too late to ring the real Estate we waited until Sunday morning to call them and they got the property manager John to come and have a look at the problem ! He was so lovely and helpful and apologetic and said he didn’t know we were coming and if he did he would have got the place ready , regarding fire wood etc and he said the pump had been in getting fixed 2 weeks again but because it was Sunday there wasn’t much open so he just had a tinker and it ran for about 20 mins then stopped again ! So our wives had had enough by now and especially with a 2 year old girl with us decided it was just too hard and decided to go home ! As it was in humane conditions by this stage . Couldn’t even wash our hands !!
