"Great breakfast. Evening staff was not great at all though. The games on the phone was more important than helping people at the counter apparently and when I did get interaction with the evening employee she acted like it was a chore to do her job 2 days in a row so that was frustrating. The hotel itself was clean and had a nice view of the lake when eating breakfast."

"This hotel needs some updates. There were knats coming out of the bathroom sink drain which we didn't like. The TV was not working right but we found out it was a new TV and they weren't sure on how to fix it. The view from our room on the main floor was very nice. The view was the bay and I love that. Sunday the places around East Tawas were mostly closed even the hotel restaurant was closed. I think the biggest problem was the knats and also the pillows were too soft. They need to have firm and soft so people that stay there have a chose. The place just needs a little update to it. Other than that, it is a nice place with a great view."

"I guess our stayed turned into future stay recon work because after understanding the area our kayaks would of been a great assett. Largo springs was on the top of our list but it was under construction, The lumberman monument park was cool tho we didnt commit To the 200 plus stairs down and back up but weather was perfect for a good leg stretch and site seeing. We went thrift shopping in tawas visted a shore park there as well. All of our dining was at the rental because who wants to spend all their time away from such a relaxing back deck. Loved the porch swing and thoroughly felt soothed by the hot tub. Wonderful place to have a bon fire and a cup of coffee."

"Golden on the lake was just the cabin we needed for a weekend away. It had enough space for our group, comfy beds and furniture. There were little details the hosts provided that just took things to the next level. Hot tub was clean and got nice and toasty. View from the back deck was spectacular."

"The employee that checked us in was pleasant. The room was basic but clean-ish. I say that because yes, the toilet and sink were clean but around the light switches, floor corners, door handles etc were dirty. Not a deal breaker, just noticed. The room had a fridge, microwave and plug ins for electronics. Overall, a decent room for the price. Would stay there again,at this time of year. Im sure during the summer the price might be higher and then it wouldnt be worth it to me."
