Our room was very noisy as there was a food cart outside the hotel that stayed open until 2 am. It was very loud and difficult to sleep even with the windows closed. There was no fan provided in our room to potentially block the noise a bit, our friends that stayed in another room did have a fan. I would not recommend this hotel. The restaurant was great.

The room and everything else was fine, however, my check in, he was rude, and that was the first time I've experienced a terrible check in on this hotel, and even my check out, another front desk agent, he was rude too. But my other stays, the check in and check out personnel were awesome.

The hotel in general was pretty good. Everything worked and was clean. The only issue was check-in. The guy that checked us in was very strange. He spoke super super minimally. When we went to our room it wasn't the type of room we paid an upgrade for. So we went back down and he says "your room isn't ready". He did not check with anyone. Since we complained he went and checked with cleaning staff. The room was indeed ready. This could have been handled many ways all of which start and end with communication. His lack of communication created more work for him and inconvenienced us.

The hotel room was fine but the second time with the same front desk agent, he was again rude when I checked in. This is the same front desk agent. And this is my second terrible check in on this hotel with the same front desk agent. I'm on a business trip and would not come back again due to this terrible front desk agent, and would choose another hotel which I stayed before, Aspen Suites, since they've always have excellent check in and check out front desk agent. I would recommend re-evaluate Sitka Hotel's front desk agent, and re-train or time to make some changes.

Old hotel trying to do its best… Kitchen: Poorly equipped kitchen (ie. one small steak knife to cut everything, plastic old plates, haphazard pots and pans) The bedding was very old polyester and the duvet had no cover. However the Staff was friendly and made an excellent effort to supply clean towels and whatever we needed!
