"Beautiful accommodation. Very clean and spacious. They had all the amenities we needed including some Cretan biscuits on arrival! The location was perfect, parking was easy on the nearby port. Even though we did not order a sea view room, we still got a little glimpse of the ocean between the 2 buildings in front. No faults, this place was perfect!"

"A truly wonderful little house, very well appointed with bedding and towels. It's even somewhat of a tourist attraction due to the magnificent Bougainvillea. Just right for two people. Turn left out of the front door and you have 6 tavernas, 4 bars, a super bay to swim in and a well stocked little supermarket. The whole atmosphere is very tranquil and relaxed. Finally Androniki, the owner is fabulous and very attetive."

"Das Hotel hat eigentlich alles richtig gemacht. Es ist klein, menschlich, einfach und zweckmäßig. grundsätzlich liegen die nur 6 Zimmer nach vorne raus und haben eine kleine Terrasse mit einer traumhaften Aussicht. Obwohl an der Durchgangsstraße E 90 gelegen, ist es dort ruhig und erholsam. Der Gang in die Stadt nimmt gute 5 Minuten in Anspruch. Optimal für nah dran aber doch nicht mitten drin. "

"Lovely welcome, polite staff. We had a room upgrade to a sea view which was nice. Breakfast was plentiful but as it was end of season the bread rolls and croissants were very dry. The fruit had swarms of fruit flies so we decided not to bother, but there were other options. The pool area looked nice and clean with lots of seating options. It was very quiet, possibly we were there on their last open weekend, not sure. Sound proofing wasn’t good In the bedroom, we could hear a man talking loudly either in the next room or in the corridor around midnight. I’m sure that in the height of the season it is a very different experience. Having said that the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. We don’t think it merits the 5\* rating. "

"Stayed at NIKO for a long weekend in mid October - we had the BEST weather (sunny and warm but not too hot) and really enjoyed our time there. The views are just stunning (definitely recommend sea-view rooms). Great service and attention to detail. Breakfast buffet is excellent and all hotel staff from reception to bar/restaurant are incredibly nice and helpful. Thanks in particular to Manos, the night receptionist for being so helpful and welcoming when I arrived so early in the morning!"

"Excellent place. Amazing food (actually too good). Nice staff. Only downer is a 100 euro "climate crisis tax" slapped on your bill at the end. If you're going to obligatorily add 100 euros to a bill. You should say this at the time of booking. When do we draw the line on this? A "water crisis tax" of 20,000 euros slapped on a check out bill? I realise it's not all their fault. But more could be done."

"Breakfast was more Holiday Inn express standard Room faced a busy road and outside entrance so extremely noisy . Not shown on website or when booking. Rooms were barely serviced Pools have amazing view but be warned are not heated . Indoor pool is pretty cold also most people got out immediately . Nice sauna though"

"The Old Pomegranate House was an enchanting place to stay. Views of the bay, beautiful sunsets and a cozy, well appointed, clean space to call home. Perfectly located to explore Eastern Crete. Recommendations from our hosts were detailed and really enhanced our trip. They also left us delicious feta, and local tomatoes and cucumbers- we feasted on these for breakfast our entire stay. We hope to return some day! "

"We had an amazing stay at Villa Estia, set just a short drive from Makry Gialos in a peaceful hillside location. The villa offered everything we needed for a relaxing family holiday and then some!The views were truly breathtaking—rolling hills, sea glimpses, and beautiful sunsets right from the terrace. The pool was a standout feature for us. It was perfect for both younger children and adults, with a great layout and plenty of space to swim or cool off. There were also plenty of shaded areas around the pool and outdoor seating, which was ideal for escaping the midday sun without having to head inside.Inside, the air-conditioning worked flawlessly throughout the villa—powerful, quiet, and consistent. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and there was a great sense of privacy and calm throughout. We especially enjoyed the dining spaces both indoors and out—perfect for big family meals or laid-back breakfasts with a view. There are many lovely places to see in a hire car and easily fell your time up on the island. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. Villa Estia is peaceful, well-equipped, and an excellent choice for families or groups looking to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of Crete. We’d absolutely stay again!"
