The cleanliness and coziness of this cabin made our trip absolutely incredible. It was the first thing we saw when we arrived to Gatlinburg and was not disappointed. Will book with them again when staying in the future
We really enjoyed our stay the cabin was very cozy, had everything you needed the hot tub was wonderful, if you want a beautiful secluded cabin this is the one but you do need an AWD or 4-WHEEL DRIVE we will return

Shady’s Barn was clean and matched our expectations from the description and pics. Beautiful property in a private setting, end cabin on a long gravel drive.
The kitchen is pretty well stocked which came in handy since we were attending an event in Townsend where the few restaurants there can get overwhelmed at dinner time.
Hope to return next year.
Quiet little cabin off the beaten path, you need AWD to get up the path for a couple hundred yards, but it’s worth it.
The extra blankets are in the dresser if you need.
We always search for more secluded rentals, but It’s always a coin toss when the advertisement says “secluded”. This one really is! We thoroughly enjoyed the property, the hot tub was great, and the other amenities were just as advertised. Would definitely recommend and we will certainly return as well!
If you want to get away, be out in nature and enjoy the country life this is the place for you.
We woke up every morning, made coffee and hopped in the hot tub. Nothing like it….
The pictures of Shadys Barn do not do it justice. It is absolutely adorable and cozy. It was so very perfect for us. The kitchen is well stocked. I added a couple items :) WiFi is excellent. Hot tub was perfect. Mornings on the porch with coffee were perfect. An abundance of wildlife
Property was everything it said it was and as described. It was nice to find a cabin for just two, well appointed and nice lay out, not everything cramped in one space to include the hot tub. Needs a blind over the glass doors, we used blankets to keep out the sun, and any passerby’s. Privacy from neighbors was nice... Peaceful, I would consider staying again.
We had such a fabulous time at Shady’s Barn. The cabin is a perfect secluded gem in the Tennessee Mountains. We were fortunate to see the Black Bears every day of our visit, munching acorns and even a Momma bear with 3 cubbies! Definitely had to be mindful of the bears, but overall it was more beautiful and relaxing than we ever imagined. The hot tub was great and the seclusion was amazing. The drive in was a bit intimidating as someone who doesn’t have much experience with mountain driving, but by the end of the trip I was a pro. Hubby and I can’t wait to return! Highly recommended!
Very clean. Very private. No cell service in the cabin, but the wifi worked well. It would have been nice if every window in the bedroom as well as the glass door to exit to the outside had shades to keep out the morning light.
From the long winding gravel drive to the steep incline that takes you up to the cabin (Shad'y Barn) it's everything you'd expect plus more in a secluded cabin. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need. The cabin is a unique design that works perfect. Plenty of windows and for us the best part was the hot tub on the screened porch that looks out to the grove of Oak trees where all the wildlife comes to. In our case it was a group of deer that would come everyday to eat the acorns that were all over the ground. We didn't see any bear but were told they also show up as well. This cabin sits close enough to anything you would expect to do in the Smokies but also feel like your far away when your relaxing in the evenings. There are a lot of cabins etc. leading up to Shady's Barn but once you turn onto the gravel drive you immediately begin to feel the sense of being secluded. Directions were perfect, communication with host perfect, all information needed was spot on. Really enjoyed our stay at Shady's Barn. We will definitely be back. John and Tracy
We really enjoyed our stay, everything was as advertised. A soak in the hot tub every afternoon after exploring the area was nice. I gave the check-in process three stars for the following reason: Shortly after we booked I received an email asking for a picture of my credit card (last four numbers of account only) and my drivers license. This would allow the renter to email me the address and door code on the day of arrival. I wasn't comfortable sending personal information over unsecure email, so I was given the option to check-in at the office in town on the day of arrival, which is what we did. After our stay I emailed the manager asking why they required this and this was part of his response: "One of the reasons we request a photo of the credit card (with only the last four digits visible) along with a driver’s license is to verify that the person making the reservation is the same person staying at the property and is also the person paying."Ironically, their process doesn't guarantee that at all, the alternate procedure of having me check-in at the office does much more to insure this. Had I emailed the information requested I could have just forwarded the address and door code email to someone else on arrival day and they would have been none the wiser. Checking in at the office at least proved I was in the area that day, even if I wasn't the one actually staying at the property. I still highly recommend this property for a relaxing stay in the area.
The cabin was exactly as listed and it was beautiful we got there after dark but the turn by turn directions they gave us got us there first try the cabin was clean and cozy the property manager was amazing when we come back we will be using them again
If I could leave a six star rating for the location, view, and coziness of this cabin I would. Leaving out one morning my wife and I saw a bear a short distance from the cabin on the private driveway. My wife and I always try to find a small, unique, and cozy place to stay on our anniversary trip and this cabin didn’t disappoint.
