The place is also not so far from the beautiful town of Ravello, about 1 km., one of the pearls of the Coast, known for the magnificent Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo and furthermore for its concert season which claims presences of tourist from everywhere. The bus stop of Sita bus to Amalfi is just 150 mt. away, while the closest beach, named Castiglione di Ravello, reachable also by steps, is placed 5 km. down. There was a lovely garden, inside there was stained glass, beautiful tiles and other artistic touches. Scala was peaceful and close to Ravello. The only thing to note is you must have 300 euros in cash for the deposit, and 150 cleaning fee in cash. I missed those details online and thought it would be simply charged to my credit card. Well wishes to Giovanni for his safe recovery. Villa was excellent, location was quiet and secluded, although you need to be well up on bus times etc for transport around the coast. Taxis are very expensive compared to Uk. Make sure you get stocked up on groceries/provisions, we found it not difficult to locate a supermarket, they only open at certain times. We found a lovely restaurant in Scala Piertro”s excellent food and service. Overall it was a very memorable holiday and views breathtaking. We took a couple of boat trips from Amalfi to Positano and Capris which was excellent and enjoyed the walk to Ravello, beautiful square and shops. ##### Margaret W.
