This place was amazing it was the most beautiful little house with fantastic views. The place was clean, snacks, water, juice, coffee, tea provided an amazing touch. The location was prefect. Chris was super helpful from start to finish answering all our questions and arranging transportation for us and a rental car. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a great stay; small local village, George was great for check in; met us in the parking lot and walked us to the room. Gave us information on places to eat (only 2, but his top suggestion was great!). We loved the view and the whole atmosphere and you can't beat the price. We would stay again.

The property and host were great, it was a beautiful view and terrace to enjoy it. George was very helpful in anything we asked. The only improvement I would make is in the mattress, they were very hard and tough to get a good nights sleep. I would recommend anyone choosing this location!

Beautiful Property and location.

I loved this property. Firstly the manager George greeted us very nicely. He also arranged for a cab for us. The room was beautiful! The balcony opened to the view of the whole village and the ocean. I loved ExoGonia. Quiet and Quaint village. Enjoyed the sun rise every morning from the balcony!

Ms Ana and Vera made our stay remarkable! Vera arranged car rental for us and showed us all the places to check out on our stay. Ms. Ana even brought over home baked cake bread one morning! After our day at the beach , we came home and our place was cleaned and restocked without being asked! We would have stayed longer if we could! The place is just so charming and the family really do take care of you! Would highly recommend !

We stayed in the Mario house. It was EXACTLY as expected in the photos! The house is between two restaurants which one is a very popular one on the island. There was 3 of us and we all had plenty of space. Vera was wonderful and helped sooo much more than we expected. Once we arrived she sat down with us to review the islands map and gave lots of suggestions! She was always a phone call or text away if we needed any suggestions or transfers. Room service came daily to clean up and give fresh towels, and one day we were left some DELICIOUS sweet bread! Only suggestion is to be aware you are in the middle of the island, so you will absolutely need a car atv or scooter. The nearest functioning bus stop was a 30 minute walk up or down hill. There is a stop directly next to the house, but a bus only goes there twice a day 7am and around 3pm. During peak season the island is extremely packed, so it is difficult to even catch buses any where from oia or Fira as they get packed. And there aren’t enough cabs on the island to support the population. We used transfers which became a little pricey. So get a car to save yourself from the transportation head ache. Overall, morning star was very much worth every penny! We felt like we were in an authentic greek home.

Anna and Maria were perfect hostesses, we could not have asked for more. There are two great restaurants within 100 meters, great views and a peaceful village atmosphere. Maria explained the island to us, Anna kept the rooms very clean, and us well fed with her delicious carrot cake. I would go back in a heartbeat.

The most wonderful hosts ever!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the people who run Morning Star houses - I’ve met nice people before, but it’s rare that you meet people who are so genuine and caring. From Amalia meeting us at the airport after midnight so we wouldn’t have trouble finding the house (I’m glad that she did) to Anna baking us a cake and leaving eggs that her chicken laid that morning for us for breakfast the next day to even replacing the eggs that we used because she saw that we enjoyed them to giving us an impossibly late checkout as we had a late evening flight home. Just absolutely wonderful people. The house itself was modest - not the whitewashed villas that you’ll find in Fira or Oia, but not at those prices either. It provided us everything that we needed for a Santorini base and we were left with a very warm feeling that we stayed at the right place.

Charmerende lejlighed med fantastisk udsigt

Det er gamle charmerende huse/lejligheder (bygget 1892) i et lille kvarter med meget smalle gader halvt oppe af bjerget (ikke biler ved lejligheden). Området har dog kun 2 restauranter (men rigtigt gode - Anemoloos er en af de bedste restauranter på Santorini overhovedet), derfor skal der køres til alt (for langt at gå og en lidt farlig vej ned af bjerget). Værten kommer med hjemmebagt kage flere gange om ugen, og hun kom også med frisk æg en dag. :-) Vi rejste med andre som pga. problemer med deres booking boede et andet sted på øen, så vi var faktisk ikke så meget i lejligheden, men der var altid rent og pænt, når vi kom hjem. Fantastisk udsigt fra altanen både dag og aften. Pga. restauranterne er det småt med parkering om aftenen; det kan være nødvendigt at køre lidt op eller ned af bjerget og finde en P-plads; 100 meter at gå, men på en lidt 'spændende' bjergvej. Fin Air/Con, og da huset nærmest er bygget ind i bjerget, bliver der ikke super varmt. OK WiFi, men ikke det hurtigste. Så alt i alt, kan Morning Star bestemt anbefales som base for en ferie på Santorini, men man skal være forberedt på at køre til alt, og at det kan være en udfordring med parkering tæt på.

SANTORINI, the dream island

We spend 6 nights at one of the the Morning Star traditional houses. We,re a family of three. From beginning till the end of our arrival everything was more than excellent. Mrs Amelia and specially Mrs Anna de owner made our stay at Morning Star a dream. They, ve been taking care about every single detail. Mrs Anna prepared a cake to welcome us at our arrival. The appartment was excellent daily cleaned. Everything you could need were provided from Mrs Anna, a very kind lady. We wish we could speak a little greek to THANK her for everything. THANKS AMALIA, THANKS ANNA!!:-)
