Papa's Hideaway- secluded cottage in Grayton on the lake
Welcome to Papa's Hideaway- the perfect spot for your family's vacation. Situated on a large lot on Western Lake in Grayton, this 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage is an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway.
The community of Grayton is in the center of all 30A has to offer. This historic town has an "old Florida" feel with old oak trees and, of course, the famous Red Bar. The shops/restaurants in Grayton and the beach are about a 3 minute walk from Papa's Hideaway. Although this charming cottage is steps away from all that Grayton has to offer, it is perfectly tucked away for privacy.
Papa's Hideaway is on a corner lot protected by large pine trees. You enter the house through the large screened in porch. The porch has a wooden table with 4 chairs, a couch, and a large chair to relax and enjoy your morning coffee. When you enter the house, you are greeted by the living room, which has a wood burning fireplace, a couch, 2 large chairs and a flatscreen TV. The kitchen is adjacent to the living room and is stocked with pots and pans, cutlery, and glassware- ready for a home cooked meal! The stainless-steel refrigerator has a built-in ice maker. The stove top has 4 electric burners with an oven below.
The master bedroom has a king bed with a wonderful view of the large yard. There is a flatscreen TV and 2 nightstands in the master bedroom.
The second bedroom has 2 twin beds- perfect for the kids! There is another flatscreen TV in the second bedroom.
The bathroom has a wonderful large glass shower. In the closet of the bathroom are the washer and dryer.
The best part of the property is the dock on Western Lake. The dock is a great place to enjoy an evening cocktail or throw a line in the water to catch some fish.
Papa's Hideaway also has a charcoal grill on the outdoor patio and an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days and had the best time! Highly recommend. Very clean and comfortable. Easy to access the beach and a wonderful dock to hang out on. Definitely recommend this if your looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay away from the hustle bustle
This was a great spot for my husband and his two groomsmen to stay for our wedding weekend. It's not big inside, but theres plenty of space outside and you're within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. Very peaceful on the property too. The host was fantastic and very accommodating. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this spot!
Wonderful location. Great fireplace and short walk to Red Bar and all of Grayton Beach! Loved having coffee on the porch and dropping a line in the lake! Great biking! Would definitely recommend
We have been coming to the Grayton/Seagrove Beach area for over 35 years and Papa’s Hideaway is at the top of our list of beach cottages. If you love the old time nostalgia of a true beach cottage, this little gem is for you!Tastefully decorated and so cozy and comfortable. Close to restaurants, hiking, biking and the gorgeous Emerald Coast beaches. The view of Western lake every morning was breathtaking.
Wonderful Time for My 15 year old son and his momma
This place can't be beat. The area is changing, but I like that Papa's Hideaway retains the vintage cool thing about Flordia's Fishcamp/Bungalows. Vintage, yet all the modern comforts. Amazing Bed, shower, outdoor areas, and views. Love the proximity to the beach and the ability to paddle board to the beach. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Loved our stay. Private with a short walk to the beach. The cottage had everything needed to be comfortable. We really didn’t want to leave. Really nice community with very friendly people. Communication top notch!!
We loved our stay at this little cottage. The view and coziness were spectacular. The property manager was extremely communicative and made our stay seamless. Note: there is no dishwasher- so plan ahead!
This house was beyond perfect for my family of four and the lake access and short walk to the beach and great restaurants made it in my opinion the best house for us in Grayton. We rented an inflatable paddle board and 2 seat kayak and easily launched them from the dock. The two chairs on the dock also made it the perfect location for fishing and watching the sunrise.
The house was beautifully decorated and so very cozy. We were also thankful for the fire pit, beach chairs, and cornhole game.
I can’t say enough good things about this house. It was perfect!
This property is a delightful cozy cabin on a beautiful piece of land located along an inlet in Grayton Beach, Florida. While it cannot appeal to everyone due to its size (2 BR, 1 bath), it is perfect for a couple or up to four people who do not mind sharing a bathroom. The cabin itself is older but has been well-maintained, and the interior has been upgraded with lots of thoughtful touches (hooks for clothes, good lighting, artful decor, good beds and bedding, etc.) that make it very comfortable. The AC works well - it was cold during our stay but the heat worked quickly. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms to help. The bathroom has access from the master bedroom and also from the kitchen area. It is quite large, with storage space for multiple persons. The washer and dryer are located in a closet inside the bathroom. The property itself is beautiful, with lots of land and various spots with adirondack chairs for relaxing or watching the fish jump in the inlet. The dock would be another great spot for chilling. There is a fire pit also, along with an outdoor shower. The location is convenient to the entire 30A area - that stretch of charming small towns along the Florida panhandle coast. There are a couple bars within walking distance, as well as town's gulf coast beach. Close to state parks also. The host's communication was excellent. We loved the cabin and used it as a base for our explorations. It would also be great for a nice relaxing stay in a beautiful area.
My husband and I have stayed at this property multiple times. Despite staying during one of the busiest parts of the summer, this property manages to feel cozy, secluded, and peaceful with the convenience of being g a short walk to everything. The host was communicative, helpful and welcoming. Can’t recommend Papa’s hideaway enough!
Such a great place to stay! It was quiet and proximity to the beach was great. We enjoyed sitting out on the dock after the baby went to bed with the baby monitor. Would love to stay here again!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Papa’s Hideaway. The private dock kept our daughter busy all morning looking for crabs and fish. The short walk to the beach is ideal. We can’t wait to visit again.
The location is awesome….so very private…away from the hustle and bustle….wonderful deck on the lake with perfect sunrises and sunsets…a wood burning fireplace for rainy cool days, a kayak to explore the lake… I could go on and on🌺
