Experience the charm and nature of Old Seagrove in this spacious 4-bedroom, 3-bath home that overlooks a beautiful tree-lined canal. Canal of a Good Time is a 2-story beach retreat located on a quiet dead end street offering the ultimate in privacy. A 10-minute stroll will take you into Seaside, where you can enjoy award-winning restaurants, unique shops, and the ambiance of a quaint coastal village. Wide plank heart of pine floors from an Alabama cotton warehouse grace the entire home and give it a warm, vintage charm. Soaring ceilings and multiple windows over the spacious living room give the room light and airiness. 3 bedrooms are on the main floor with the master suite encompassing the full 2nd floor. The living room is perfect for movie nights or to relax with a good book (there's a library wall full of choices!). There's a larger TV mounted above the fireplace. Warm up in front of the wood-burning fireplace if you’re coming in Florida’s “cooler” months. Next to the fireplace is the perfect setup for game night – a card table and seating for 4\. The kitchen opens out to the living room with a long bar that has 3 barstools. The fully equipped kitchen has plenty of space to make meal preparation a breeze. The dining room has a large table that has 6 chairs – more chairs can easily fit from the card table to seat 8\. Right outside the kitchen you’ll find the gas grill for all your BBQ cravings. French doors off the living room open to the screened-in porch which overlooks the canal. Enjoy plenty of seating for dining and relaxation. Take a minute to unwind on the front porch on the porch swing – cool and relaxing. Laundry room comes off the kitchen and has a front-loading washer and dryer, laundry sink, and folding countertop. Off the laundry room you’ll find the private bunk room with bathroom – great for teens. Sleeping Arrangements: 1st Floor, Bedroom 1: Queen with TV and access to the hall bath with tub/shower combination. 1st Floor, Bedroom 2: 2 twin beds; shares hall bathroom with Bedroom 1 1st Floor, Bedroom 3: Twin-over-twin bunk room with attached full bathroom. 2nd Floor, Bedroom 4: Queen master suite with huge closet (could easily fit a Pack ‘n Play or even 2) and access to a private screened-in balcony. Private bathroom includes a beautiful walk-in 2-person shower. The beach is about a 10-minute walk down lovely oak canopied dirt roads of Old Seagrove. Seaside is just around the corner. Or you can paddle your troubles away to Western Lake in a canoe or kayak – if you’re lucky, nature will provide you with an opening into the Gulf of Mexico! Close enough to walk or bike to everything…beach, galleries, fine cuisine, bike trails, markets, boutiques, and coffee shops! Your stay at Canal Of A Good Time comes with Xplorie’s best activities! The biggest things to know is that the mattress and pillows are the absolute worst we have ever experienced. The pillows were all flat and no matter the room you were in the mattresses were all so old and janky. The bunk beds were dirty and have probably not ever been cleaned. This property is managed by a local company and they will not allow early check in without an absurd amount which I find absolutely ridiculous. I own STR’s as well and I always allow early check in as long as my property is cleaned at no extra costs. It is all about customer service. Which is not what is provided when they use these large rental companies verses managing it themselves! We probably would not stay here again just bc of how bad the beds, sheets and pillows were. It is so important in your properties to ensure the best quality mattresses, sheets and pillows which they didn’t have any of the three. ##### KAYLA M. This is a special place, in a unique spot of an old (but developing) neighborhood. The house is lovely - we loved the pine floors, artwork and fixtures throughout, water lilies in the canal out back. The kitchen is beautiful and is reasonably furnished for our needs but if you’re a gourmet cook, you’d better bring that special pan or sharp knife from home. Kitchen sink is in need of faucet repair BOTH hot and cold valves are wonky. A broom, more glassware, and some additional pots and pans would put this place at the top of its game. That said, these are tiny issues in a special lovely home. We would absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend to others with those minimal reservations. PS - it is truly prettier and has a warmer “feel” than the posted photos convey. ##### Charles W. The house was clean and comfortable. It’s a cozy house perfect for a family vacation. The location is good. We rented a golf cart which made it very easy and quick to get to a lot of places. The deck area was very nice and relaxing. The communication with the rental company was good. I didn’t need anything in the kitchen. Pretty much everything needed was there. This is our 13th (I think) Thanksgiving family reunion in Seaside / Seagrove area. Our family is growing and our great memories too! The house was clean, well equipped, spacious, and comfortable. The property was tucked away and private. Plenty of room to spread out. The house is on the canal that leads to Watercolor. We put in 3 kayaks directly behind the house and made our way to Watercolor via the water. It was a little challenging in some places and wondered if alligators were hiding in the rushes. Beautiful journey, nonetheless! Also in the canal, we had a backyard otter! We named him Carlos. Quite entertaining. Would definitely return to this property. Great location, great house! Cleaning company did a poor job of cleaning before we arrived. Maintenance issues need to be addressed. The location is absolutely amazing.
