Find hotels in Santa Margherita from CA $57

The best area to stay in Santa Margherita is along the Lungomare, the town's promenade, which offers direct access to the sea and the main hub of activity.

This area stretches along the coastline and is where you'll find most of Santa Margherita's hotels, restaurants, and shops. It's very walkable, with the harbour on one end and the public beaches on the other. The main square, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, is also located here, a central point for local life.

For couples looking for a romantic escape, staying in a hotel overlooking the sea on the Lungomare is ideal. You'll be steps away from the water, with plenty of opportunities for leisurely strolls, waterfront dining, and enjoying the views. Many hotels here offer balconies with sea views, superb for a morning coffee or an evening aperitivo.

Families will also find the Lungomare convenient due to its proximity to the public beaches and the town's amenities. Hotels in this area often have direct access to the lidos, making it easy to spend days by the sea.

The best time to go to Santa Margherita is from late spring to early autumn, specifically May, June, and September.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures superb for enjoying the coast without the intense heat and larger crowds of peak summer. You'll find the sea is warm enough for swimming, and the days are long, allowing for plenty of exploration and relaxation. It's a great time for couples to enjoy romantic walks along the promenade or for families to spend quality time on the beaches.

July and August are also popular, particularly for families on school holidays, but you can expect higher temperatures and more visitors. If you prefer a bustling atmosphere and don't mind the heat, these months still offer a wonderful experience with all the local businesses fully open.

For a quieter visit, April and October can be lovely, with cooler temperatures and fewer tourists.
