The setting for the cabin was great…easily accessible to Henry Cowell state park and the downtown area of Felton. If you want a cabin feel in nature, this is your place. The cabin itself is rustic but has everything you need plus amenities like soap, shampoo, dish soap, coffee filters, etc. The cabin was very clean and it was nice to have a porch and a parking spot next to the cabin. The registration person was friendly and very accommodating. Our only concern was that our cabin futon could use a replacement…but other than that, it was an enjoyable stay.

Me encantaron nos estuvimos 3 días están súper bonitas aparte está serca y rio y uno se puede bañar ahí pero si está bonito le doy 9/10
Unbelievably beautiful property among the redwoods, adorable red cottage next to a creek! I can't wait to go back. I've told all my friends about this place, and if I was not such an oldie (over 50), I would definitely do an Instagram about it! Charming, quiet and lovely place to stay.
Beautiful and peaceful stay! We loved being surrounded by the redwoods with the river flowing right nearby. Getting soaked in the river was such a fun and refreshing experience. The cabin was excellent, comfortable, cozy, and perfect for a family getaway. We stayed in Cabin 11A, which was right behind the river and just an easy walk away. We had a wonderful time with our family and truly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Definitely a memorable stay!

The location is great, surrounded by Giant Redwoods with the Redwood forest literally across the river.
However, the description mentions a private sandy beach. It is in fact a cobbled river bed that hikers willing to wade knee high through the river are all too keen to share without paying a premium for the privilege.
The cabins are poorly lit, the kitchen is very basic, with a tiled worktop not big enough to use the chopping board between the sink and cooker.
The bathroom is no better with a 3 sided shower cubicle and only a loose hose shower head you have to hold. Impossible to open a shampoo bottle or wash at the same time.
In summary, great location but the quality of accommodation internally is very disappointing and the sting is in the cost that is equivalent of a 5 star luxury property.
Excellent stay! I loved our cabin. It had a beautiful view, and my family really enjoyed spending time surrounded by nature, the river, and the majestic redwood trees. It was peaceful, relaxing, and a wonderful place to create family memories.
One suggestion for improvement would be to provide daily housekeeping, including room cleaning and fresh towels each day. That would make the stay even more comfortable.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely come back!
This a one and done for us. Way too much money per night for what you get. Our cabin was barely worth half that. When we arrived at about 2:30 per for a 3:00 pm check-in, the room was not ready. Okay, but it seemed clear that the room had not even been touched since the last guests checked out at 11 am as one employee walked to the cabin with cleaning supplies in hand. We left and came back about an hour later. No check in there. You grab your key off of a bulletin board and go to your cabin with no advisement. We walk into the cabin and there is a strange smell. Don't know what it is but what we do know is that there is an oily residue on all the surfaces in the bedroom. It appears cleaning the wood cabin bedroom includes spraying it with some sort of oil soap that didn't get wiped off. Our books and phones had to be wiped off with a rag I had in my car. The refrigerator is missing shelves. The foundation of the cabin is sinking in the back so you walk uphill from the bedroom to the front room. The "loft" has a mattress on the ground and is barely useable. A very uninviting plastic picnic table on a bed of rocks is your outdoor space. There is no way I would use the on site EV charger, not that I could anyways, as a non EV car was blocking the parking spot the entire time. Only service dogs allowed there but the on site staff have an aggressive German shepherd that barks at the guests. We burned our second booked night.
A lovely old fashioned resort bungalows in the redwoods. We were attending a concert nearby in Felton and the hotel was very conveniently located. Super easy checkin and check out. Very friendly hosts. I wish that I'd stayed for an additional day to properly enjoy tge setting.
This little cabin we stayed in was tucked in at the edge of the Redwoods, near Santa Cruz. This was a lovely location while traveling up the California coast.

The area was nice. The cabinets were a little old and they need renovation. We had a good time. Just be aware that the Cabin ms are a little bit outdated.
My friend and I loved this property! Set amongst redwoods and lush greenery and along a river, our cabin was spacious and private. We had a bedroom, loft, futon couch, fireplace, full small kitchen, deck with chairs, picnic table and bbq grill. Check in was easy and staff was friendly. It was so soothing to sit on the deck and listen to the rushing water in the river, watching ducks fly by and stellar jays landing on the deck. Plus, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is right across the river! We can't wait to return and stay for more days!
We loved our stay at the Fern River Resort and would highly recommend it to everyone. We rented Cabin 11A, and it was exactly what was described. I think this would be a great place for a family of 4 or more as I think the kids would love the little loft. The place was clean, all of the kitchen items you would need were there. The bed was super comfy. We only stayed one night, wish we could have stayed longer.
This location is amazing! Felton is such a cute out of the way small town and only 20 min from Santa Cruz. The redwoods are such an amazing place to be in. It is instantly cooler and shady. The cabins here had just what we needed. We stayed in cabin 8 and it will be our request in the future when we go back. The river was right off our patio. The grounds are immaculate as well. The check in was super easy even though I had a problem with my card. The bed was foam and really comfortable. Everything is really close by and easy to get to. We will be back!
Visited with family of eight in three excellent cabins. Very comfortable, very beautiful. We all loved, loved, loved it! The river was a big highlight for the kids! We will be back! We intend to make an annual get-together here!

Beautiful location within walking distance to the state park. There’s a cute little river that runs through the back of the property. The location offers free use of games, volleyball, ping pong, board games, horseshoes and books.
Booked three cabins for ten children, grand children and great grandchildren. We had one of the absolute best vacations ever!!! Loved it! A magnificent site and great resort!!! ❤️💓❤️
We loved our stay at Fern River Resort. Tucked beneath the trees, it felt peaceful and fully immersed in nature.
Our cabin was clean, cozy, and warm, we lit the fireplace in the evening and unwound after a beautiful train ride through the redwoods. Sitting by the river at dusk was one of those simple, perfect moments you wish you could stretch out a little longer.
The location is ideal, just down the road from Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, making it easy to explore while still feeling tucked away.
A quiet, grounding place we’d absolutely return to.
