It's completely automated, so there was no staff working in the lobby of the hotel, which was very creepy. The house was remodeled, but still the air was stuffy and smelled very old. I wanted to spend a few nights in beautiful Santa Barbara, and not to stay in a museum. In addition, there were no A/C controls in the room so I had to ask staff over text messages for help multiple times. A special thank you to Humberto, who ensured we were able to check in early and had everything we needed. His thoughtful recommendations for food and activities, along with the personal touches and excellent communication, made our stay extra special.
