It did get a bit warm in the house late evenings in July but cooled down overnight. We did see a mouse while we were there but no droppings or evidence that it had been in the house a long time. We got everything we were looking for...5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, brought our dogs and put them in the fenced in yard, hot tub and fully functional kitchen, and country charm with a mother doe with twins. Very quiet and peaceful location. Our host Tony was a very nice gentleman who checked in, was available but let us have our space. We were all very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend it. The master bedroom was huge with windows facing straight out from the bed overlooking the mountains. We have made new memories. Forgot to mention that the river is 1 block away and our kids caught 11 fish from the pond. Yummy! This area has a walking/bike path, is about 20-30 minutes from the hot springs (which were incredible) at mt. Princeton. There are some lakes also that you can take the kids swimming in or hire a guide to take you rafting. So much to do in Salida. Cool mid-size town.
