The nearest beach, 10 minutes walk away, stretches for kilometers and is one of the best on the island. The beach is located on the west side, and you can take baths in the sun-sets or just go down to the beach club houses and take a drink/eat something and enjoy the beautiful seaside landscape. There is a shop less than 100 meters away from the house. There are also a number of restaurants in the area (a la carte, pizza, asian, grill). And even more of them if you visit the neighbouring Santa Maria. Which is within walking range, or by a Taxi for some 3-4 EUR. Vila Verde also has a local bus that goes about 4 times a day to and from Santa Maria which is free for guests with an access card (we provide). There is a bus stop just above the house. For someone who enjoys fishing. Cape Verde in general is a very interesting choice. We advice catch and release and perhaps to keep one or two fish for an interesting dinner. In Santa Maria you can also buy fish from the local fishermen, to very good prices. Like tuna, barracuda, groupers etc. There is also usually a lot of exotic fresh fruits to chose from. Mango season is in August and September. Séjour de 21 nuits en juillet 2025 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Joann P. 21 mars 2026 Points faibles : Propreté The apartment was large and generally catered for all we needed This is located in the Vila Verde resort not where is shown on the map.There is a supermarket a couple of minutes walk from the apartment which stocked what we neededCheck in instructions were clear and we found the apartment without issue the pictures of the pool area ( white buildings ) are actually bikini beach which is one the Melia complex 20 mins walk away. Would recommend going there for the beach where sunbeds are free It was clear when we checked in that the apartment had not really been cleaned or at least not very well at all. The main on suite bathroom was very grubby and the toilet seat covered in urine. It also lacked basic items such as toilet roll, washing up liquid etc. we also had to make all the beds in the apartment we checked out a day early but were contacted by the owner to say there wouldn't be time for her cleaner to clean before the next guest arrived so would we clean the apartment and wash the bedding and towels.We left the apartment in far better condition than what it was when we arrived and as there were no cleaning materials/ washing powder etc I would not have gone out and bought these items to clean for the owner Luckily I had bright antibacterial wipes so used these to clean with. Overall we had a good stay but I think a lot more need to be done to this apartment in future ##### Joann P.
