Adonis was a gracious host, and we especially enjoyed talkig with Nikki, who was part of the staff. Our apartment was spacious, and had a nice balcony with a nice city view that also looked out on the Fortezza. Adonis oriented us to the neighborhood with suggestions and a map. We had kitchen facilities that were very convenient and our bed and air conditioning made our sleep very comfortable. We were even able to easily extend our stay on short notice. We definitely recommend Palazzo Vecchio!

We stayed for a week and were made very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable and the air-conditioning efficient, keeping the room cool. Staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Nikki who always made us feel that all guests are important and special.

A gem in Rethymno
A fantastic stay in a beautiful hotel in the old town. The staff was amazing - friendly and so helpful. The beds were super comfortable and the pool and roof terrace are an extra bonus. I would highly recommend it.

This was a wonderful hotel in the absolute best place near the castle the sea ,restaurants everywhere - kitchen needs updating but who wants to cook with 351 restaurants to choose from xx

Warm welcome
A very warm welcome from the manager on arrival. The room was large with a fridge. The breakfast was very good. The location was excellent right by the old quarter. The car park was excellent and we left our car there the following morning after checkout which was handy. We were sorry only had one night there.

Crete Travels
Overpriced compared to other accommodation stayed at during our travels across Crete. Breakfast was poor. It could be a H&S issue with going up 2 flights of stairs from the small courtyard pool to the sun terrace. Water coming up the floor waste when bath water left out.

Love the location walking distance to the old town which by the way was it amazing surprise. We sort of discovered this place by accident and it became one of our favorites in all of Greece

Under the castle walls in Rethymnon.
Under the castle walls in Rethymnon, ideal position to dump car and head out to many of the eateries and shops, the Palazzo Vecchio is a small quiet hotel with nice friendly staff.

Very nice hotel in a great location
A very nice hotel located a short walk from the centre of the old town with lots of restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beware the ground floor rooms around the courtyard if you like a morning lie in. They can be noisy with people taking early breakfast in the courtyard.

Very nice hotel, though it's showing it's age. The staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was lovely and the location was ideal. That said, the hotel room itself needs some TLC and updating for sure.

Comfy Bolthole is Crete Island Treasure
What a little gem the Palazzo Vecchio hotel is, tucked away in a quiet, tranquil corner of the historic Old Town. It’s boutique size belies it’s classy, intimate atmosphere and the friendly dedicated staff provided an excellent service during my stay. Full marks from me!

Gem of a place to stay.
We don’t often write reviews, but felt we had to because it is such a gem of a place to stay. A renovated, authentic building - not just any old boring hotel. Reasonably priced. Located just on the edge of the Old Town - perfect for evening strolls out to the many quality restaurants, shops and bars through idyllic alleyways, shaded by overhanging flora. Short walk to the bus station and a pleasant twenty minutes to the sandy beaches. The staff were absolutely lovely and the rooms kept beautifully throughout our stay. Relaxing to eat breakfasts in the cosy courtyard around the marble plunge pool. A good centre to take a ferry across to Santorini for the day and visit Heraklion, Prevali and Arcadi monasteries.

Second time we've stayed here. Rethymon is our favorite town in Crete, Palazzo is the only place to stay for us. Angela is a great hostess!

Good enough
Good 3 star level hotel. Does the basics well. Don’t expect too much gloss though -rooms are clean and adequate but a bit tired, ‘queen’ bed two singles pulled together, breakfast is average. That said, very friendly staff, pleasant courtyard and terrace, walkable to the old town and fortress. Price point for a room is about right overall.

On the edge of Old Town but within 8 min walk to sea front, good restaurants near by that are not as noisy as the ones in the town Hotel staff could not do enough for young were very informative.On Tuesdays and Saturdays in season you can get the boat to Santorini for a day trip long day but you wouldn't. need more than a day there.

Lovely hotel in old town very close to Fortezza; very welcoming, kind, helpful owner and personnel; spacious, comfortable, and air-conditioned room; yummy breakfast with a variety of food, fresh fruits, fresh pastry and perfect coffee every morning; no problem WI-FI for 4 devices simultaneously; your own parking spot right across the entrance. Great location in the old city center adjacent to the old Venetian Fortezza, with great private parking opposite the hotel. Very friendly staff . Very nice building , nice rooms and great breakfast ! Just ask in advance for the itinary to get to the hotel parking , as there are many oneway streets .

Hotel in good location with large carpark. Very pleasant courtyard with pool - bit small to swim in... Room was described as a suite but bedroom and bathroom were very small. Hotel has sunbathing area on roof as well. Breakfast was good - pleasant to take into courtyard.

We really liked to stayed at this hotel. It doesn't have many rooms what make more private the area and they are like apartments with kitchen and dinner table. All people are friendly, decoration are beautiful, room is big and it is very well located.

Very nice hotel in the old town
This is a good hotel: very friendly staff, comfortable rooms with good beds, very clean and well maintained. Good wifi. The location is superb: right in the old town, just below the fortress. It is very quiet at night but close to lots of excellent restaurants and shops.

Very smooth check in and friendly hotel staff. Rooms are nice and quite spacious but with a strong smell of drains in the bathroom and the aircon very poor.

Friendly hotel once found
Lovely stay nice and quiet. A little bit difficult to find initially especially by car but once found it all fell into place. The owner was fantastic and went out of her way to make you welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely little courtyard to have breakfast or just sit quietly and relax. We only had one night so didnt get to explore a lot of the town but certainly gave it our best shot.

Fabulous character hotel with great location
Only stayed 1 night but wished we had longer. Hotel is in the old part or the town. Restoration of the house is tastefully don't and our room had a kitchen and a private terrace which we didn't expect. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Check in was efficient and we were given a welcome drink and Cretan delight. The reception staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay in the town enjoyable. Private secure car park too.Will definitely return next year for longer
