Most lodges are built to blend in with the natural surroundings, often featuring elevated boardwalks and open-air common areas. For travellers seeking an immersive wildlife experience, staying directly within the reserve is paramount. The best time to visit Cuyabeno is during the dry season, which runs from October to March, or the shoulder months just outside of this period.During the dry season, the water levels in the lagoons and rivers are lower, making it easier to spot wildlife concentrated around the remaining water sources. It's also generally sunnier, which is excellent for activities like canoeing and jungle walks. Many travellers find the reduced humidity during this period more comfortable. For those looking for a slightly different experience, the wet season, from April to September, offers higher water levels. This allows for more extensive canoe exploration through flooded forests, reaching areas that might be inaccessible during the dry season. While there's more rain, it often comes in short, heavy bursts, and the jungle is at its most lush.
