The Space:
Welcome to the Cornerstone @ Crossers Station, a cozy and charming studio located right in the heart of Red Lodge, just steps away from downtown shops, restaurants, and beautiful Rock Creek. The Red Lodge Ski Hill and Beartooth Highway are also just down the road, making this the perfect base for exploring the area.
This unique studio is rich in Red Lodge history. When the Beartooth Highway opened in 1936, Red Lodge businessmen established new roadside inns and services. The “Crosser’s Super Service and Auto Court” was one of the better-known stops, with the property originally housing a gas station and a motor inn motel. Today, the Cornerstone @ Crossers Station occupies one of the original structures, blending the charm of its history with modern comforts.
Perfect for two, this delightful studio offers a serene sleeping area with rustic touches and ample natural light, creating a peaceful sanctuary. The fully stocked kitchenette features efficient appliances and clever storage, ideal for preparing meals during your stay. Relax in the cozy living space with a gas fireplace and enjoy the well-appointed bathroom with sleek fixtures for a spa-like experience. The queen-size murphy bed with a high-quality mattress easily tucks away, creating more space to enjoy the inviting living area.
Step outside to a private patio area with a firepit, grill, and a hot tub (available year-round), perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. As an added bonus, you'll have breathtaking views of the Beartooth Mountains right from your doorstep. With its blend of history, comfort, and modern amenities, the Cornerstone @ Crossers Station offers the ideal retreat for anyone looking to experience the charm and adventure of Red Lodge, all within walking distance of everything this wonderful town has to offer.
Cornerstone is conveniently located kitty-corner to The Roosevelt Center, Red Lodge’s vibrant hub for art, culture, performances, receptions, conferences, and community gatherings. The Neighborhood:
Red Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for family fun, a place to touch the wild, or just a chance to let your hair down. Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)
In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.
In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two to two and a half hours drive as the “Pass” is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.

Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We can’t do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being “unplugged” and to be patient.

The place was very cute and perfect for our short stay. I love being able to walk downtown and this location was amazing for that. They did a great job at carving out space for an outdoor area and the hot tub was perfect.
Cozy little place perfect for the two of us. Close to restaurants and the hot tub was exactly what we needed to relax and spend time together away from the craziness of life.
The stay was excellent. Very comfortable, decorated nicely, and perfect for a romantic getaway. Short walk to downtown bars and shopping, and a great outdoor area for hanging outside. Absolutely loved this place.

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing weekend at the Cornerstone Cottage! The home was beautiful and well maintained. Communication with the owner was pleasant and helpful. She takes the extra time and efforts to make your stay perfect. We can't wait to go back!
The Cornerstone was easy to find and we loved the iconic shape of the building.Truly a delightful space for two. We enjoyed the short distance walk to downtown with easy access to fine food and shopping. The outdoor space was great and the privacy fence is a nice touch with the hot tub out back. It is definitely a property I would recommend to a friend. We plan on returning in the future.
Great stay, private backyard and hot tub were awesome. We loved the cozy privacy of this stand-alone house, worked perfectly for our stay in Red Lodge. We liked it so much we even stayed an extra day.
We had a great stay here, a lovely little place. We would stay again. The manager even left us a bottle of chilled wine as I told her I was coming for our anniversary. They took great care of us, thank you for letting us stay!
Red Lodge has become our place to go for our Anniversary. Those year we went Vrbo instead of hotel/motel.
This place was perfect!!
Being a studio provided an intimate setting. Roomy enough to not bump into one another. Clean, beautifully decorated, amazing amenities, private and yet downtown is just a walk away.
Best Anniversary trip yet!
