![Pilhay Bridge and sluice on Congresbury Yeo river. Pilhay bridge joins the villages of Yatton and Puxton and lies at the end of 'Gang Wall' an ancient walkway over the wetland. The sluices are used to control flooding of the surrounding wetlands which lie below river level. Inside worth a visit with Reading desk and panelled octagonal pulpit flanking chancel arch, wrought iron hourglass stand by pulpit. Early/mid 16th Century heavy oak pews in most of nave. 5 18th Century box pews. Norman tub font, scraped, 17th Century strapwork cover. 17th Century door with bar at south. The hotel is well placed for the station and shopping, breakfast was very nice. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the room i had was perfect for the weekend. I would certainly stay again. The room was also reasonably priced compared to others ive stayed in. A good choice 👌
