It is a working lighthouse so it is not open to the public unfortunately. It is the highlight of things to do in Port Dickson even though it is technically not in the city. The view from the wall over the Strait of Melacca is stunning. There are two secluded beaches behind the lighthouse, down about 1000 stairs, that are the most prestine we have ever seen! No one was there besides us for the 5 hours we lounged on soft white sand surrounded by crystal blue water. It is prestine with soft, fine white sand and clear blue water. The beach is small and wonderful. We saw no one in the entire park when we were there. To find the beach: walk up the road to the lighthouse (entrance fee is 1 ringgit/person). Walk up the stairs to the lighthouse and in the back left there are stairs going down. Follow the path to the bottom - which is a tiring but short hike on the way back!
