About this property

Owner’s Favorite - A Quaint Historic Cabin in the Heart of the Swan Valley

  • Owner’s Favorite | A Quaint Historic Cabin in the Heart of the Swan Valley

Nestled on a private 230-acre ranch in the Upper Swan Valley, this charming historic cabin offers a unique blend of wilderness, history, and authentic Montana living.

Built by an original Norwegian homesteader, this was the first non-log cabin constructed in the Upper Swan Valley. Designed with practicality in mind, the cabin reflects the simple frontier lifestyle of its first residents while offering modern updates, including a recently renovated bathroom and a new gas stove.

The cabin comfortably sleeps six guests with two queen beds and trundle twins. Guests should expect a genuine historic cabin experience, where rustic charm comes with a few unique concessions. Please review the photos carefully to get a clear sense of the layout and character of the space.

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate direct access to Forest Service land from the ranch, with snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and backcountry skiing available right from the property.

The cabin is part of Meadowland Ranch’s three cabin collection: The Lazy Bean, The Homestead Cabin, and The Hunters Cabin, all listed on VRBO.

Every season brings its own beauty, but spring is truly magical. The blooming meadows, mountain views, and returning wildlife create an unforgettable experience that makes this the owner’s favorite cabin on the ranch.
