Everything you need is right here. The rustic interior creates a comfortable, homey atmosphere and is fully equipped to insure it feels like home. While there is a tv, DVDs, and board games to fill your time inside, outside is where the fun is. Take a relaxing swim out to the raft or float on the lake in the canoe or paddleboat. Fishing is great here, from the dock or out on the lake! If you prefer to relax, grab one of the many books for some reading from the comfort of the hammock or a beachside rocking chair. The gas grill and giant picnic table will make meals easy and fun. As the evening rolls around, listen for the calls of the loons while making smores over the fire pit. You will be sure to fall in love with the beauty and tranquility of the lake and all it has to offer. If you are up for a little adventure, some nearby attractions include the Maine Wildlife Park, two golf courses, the Oxford Casino, Oxford Plains Speedway and the beautiful causeway in Naples, home of the Songo River Queen. Within an hour you can visit Freeport, ME, home to LL Bean and numerous other outlet stores, the bustling downtown of Portland, ME, Casco Bay, Sebago Lake State Park, Bradbury Mountain State Park for light hiking, or the lovely Bethel, Maine area. While we prefer the beauty of Maine, we can’t deny the greatness of Mount Washington and all the area has to offer, such as outlet shopping, hiking, Storyland and Santa’s Village, all within a 1 ½ hour drive through beautiful scenery. We sincerely hope you choose to join us at Blueberry Cove Cottage. If you do, please note a few things: \- The cottage is rustic and has no heat or air-conditioning. We have many fans and extra blankets to accommodate the typical New England weather changes during the summer season. \- The water comes from the lake and is not for drinking, brushing teeth or cooking. Bathing and washing dishes is fine. We will provide a gallon of fresh drinking water to get you started. \- We are a non-smoking cottage. \- We do accept pets on a case-by-case basis. This dog friendly 2BR cottage is right on crystal clear Tripp Lake, with a large screened in porch/family room. It is small but very well appointed and maintained. The lake was so peaceful and we all enjoyed using the canoe and paddleboat to explore. We saw LOTS of fish, loons, and even a bald eagle. The kids had plenty of room to run and play, and especially enjoyed picking the plentiful blueberries. There was plenty of outdoor seating and the hammock was a real plus. The cabin was very clean and cute, the perfect size for us. The owners made sure it was stocked with anything we might need (soap, dishes, towels, etc). This cabin was the perfect, fully stocked with all appliances we could need. We had an 11 year old with us who loved the canoe and the hammock, and the fire pit and smoors! We spent some time hiking and took a trip to the wildlife park. We mostly ate in the cabin, using the kitchen and the grill outside. It was a little chilly with no heating, which we were expecting but the beds were equipped with electric blankets and loads of spare blankets to it wasn't an issue. Carol was a great host and answer all questions and checked din on us as well while we were there. The lake is so beautiful and the shallow beach is perfect for kids. It felt very private and all the amenities like boats and grill and large picnic table made out outdoor living easy and fun. We brought dogs and they were easily contained on the property. The house is comfy and clean. We watched movies and played cards and games--all of which were provided. The owner was very attentive though we didn't need anything while we were there. There is a grocery 5 minutes down the road. This was the perfect summer get away. Having had such a good time it's easier to face going back to school and work now that fall is coming. The cottage is a good size for our family of three and the owners made sure the place was stocked and ready for us to arrive. They were very attentive to all our needs both prior to arrival and were quick to answer a few questions we had once we arrived. I would recommend staying here to friends. ##### Derek D. This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent Feb 15, 2010 #### Maximum Relaxation I hadn't been to Maine since I was maybe 9 years old and had always wanted the full experience whenever it was I returned. This place was definitely the best I could have hoped for. I flew up to Boston and met up with a friend and then we made the journey north. It was the perfect size for the two of us. There was lots of helpful info on the area just inside. Watching the sunset from the beach isn't something I could soon forget. Tripp lake is beautiful and we spent many hours canoeing around, swimming or laying on the floating dock. I had never before been in water so clean and refreshing. Definitely check out the little zoo they have up here and make a day trip out to Portland. I plan on returning ASAP Definitely give this place a try! ### 10/10 Excellent #### Nancy W.
