An excellent location and the friendly, helpful staff make this a very nice place to stay. Also worth coming to for those looking for the English hotel experience. Grade 2 listed building, winding stairs, and lots of charm.
Breakfast was included and was a nice start to the day. The bed was comfortable, and we had no issues with water pressure despite being on the top floor.
Great location on The Hoe. Friendly happy helpful staff. Breakfast lovely. Nice outdoor seating area. Room and hotel clean and comfortable. Quiet area.
The parking was good at the hotel and only £10 a night.
The hotel is lovely, good breakfast, bar open till 02:00, rooms very comfortable.
Would recommend staying here and close to the city centre.
Great location, close to promenade and within walking distance to town and main attractions.
Room was clean and warm, nice breakfast selection and friendly staff.
The Staff , on arrival and especially at breakfast were friendly and welcoming and professional. Room very clean. Breakfast, good selection, the eggs ( poached and fried) cooked to perfection.
Just note there are no lifts but I was well aware of this prior to booking. My room was on the fifth floor but it was okay but my stay was short.
I would stay at the Invicta Hotal again.
Location is great - staff extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

£10 to park in hotel Carpark at the back of hotel staff were, friendly if no parking on hotel site than on the road it is £19.50 for 24 hrs. The bedroom no 25 was nice and spacious but dated and worn out the bathroom lock not working and one spot light bulb not working bed was comfortable and bar service was excellent and nice morning breakfast but the table no 6 was unstable on the floor. Staff said if you loose the key the cost is £50.
A hotel with a bit of history a stones throw from Plymouth Hoe. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and although there are no lifts it wasn’t too much of an effort to reach my top floor room.
Breakfast was freshly made with a menu catering for all tastes and requirements. there was a buffet breakfast available too.
At night there is a bar which you can use instead of sitting in your room. Evening meals can be found in the area with a variety of restaurants or you can order in.
Parking is either at the hotel if you book in advance or is available in the street. Payment is by phone or an app. I will rebook again if I return to Plymouth.
Enjoyable stay at the hotel. Pleasant room with walk-in shower in the ensuite. Friendly staff, wonderful breakfast. Reasonably priced drinks from the bar. I wish I had been told I could pre-book parking at the hotel as it is very expensive to park on the street.

The hotel location is great to Plymouth attractions. The staff were very nice and friendly and the services were nice except the shower which was very bad because of the weak water pressure.
I appreciated the staff. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was very tasty. The room was clean and had the amenities we needed. Clean. Hotel is within walking distance of many things to see in Plymouth. The history of the hotel is quite interesting.
Excellent family run hotel close to Plymouth Hoe, local restaurants and amenities. Friends welcome and excellent breakfast.
Only negative was the £10.00 per night parking charge, which I raised with the reception on check-in. I later discovered street parking outside at £2.50 per night.
For the price that you pay, this hotel provides a good level of accomodation with a great breakfast and super staff. There is a lounge and bar. Brilliant location near the sea and easy to walk to Barbican. We will be back next year Ken !! This time with more volleyball players who are keen to stay

My room was mostly ok but no air con and the fan provided in the room was faulty (only had one fan speed and would not oscilate).
Bathroom shower pressure was very poor, despite adjusting the nozzle so took a long time to shower.
Was clean enough, comfortable and breakfast in the morning was decent.

Room was in attic up 5 flights of stairs no lift last flight became narrow and steep with a sharp turn. Room floor was not level was slanted , room really dated and old. No plug sockets by bed, no lamp on one side.Bathroom facilities also old and tiles all stained. Did not even unpack as was so disappointed for the price we payed. Staff where very pleasant and friendly.would definitely not recommend
What can I say? Don’t judge a book by its cover. The building looks very elegant from the outside, but that’s where it ends. As soon as you step inside the hotel, you’re greeted with a very dated look. The whole house feels “wonky”. Floorboards keep moving under your feet. No lift, so if you’re given a room on the top floor, good luck! Room was just as “wonky”. Floor in the bathroom wasn’t level, so felt you were walking down a hill. WC took 5-10 minutes to re-fill! Shower head dirty. No fan in the tiny bathroom and we couldn’t open the window as it been painted over, so impossible to open. Bedside table was leaning forward, so some of my items slid off! Bed light above the bed was hanging off the wall. Breakfast was ok. Parking onsite behind the hotel. Just don’t bring too big a vehicle or you won’t make into the parking lot! Best thing? Location! Just a few minutes walk from the Hoe, but apart from that, nothing else. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to this (what is in our opinion) a 2 star hotel!
