The HideAway in Somerset
An incredible home with stunning views from the porch or take a short hike to the top of the hill for an amazing 360 degree panoramic view. So nice to sip some champagne or have a beer watching the sunset.
This amazing home has 2 first floor master suites with private baths, 4 upstairs bedrooms (that are larger than most master bedrooms) with each pair sharing jack-n-jill bathrooms where each room has its own sink area. A game room with a poker table, foosball table, pool table, air hockey, TV, games, weights, and a treadmill.
The wrap-around porch is extra deep with a beautiful local view and a pleasure to relax on while sipping wine or having a rootbeer float. The pool has a 30-foot waterslide, a waterfall, and a spa with a pool area bathroom. A propane Bar-B-Queue is also available poolside, in fact the house has 3, one Traeger smoker on the porch, along with a large Propane barbecue, and another propane barbecue located up at the pool.
Such a magnificent vacation rental; where it will be tough to decide where to enjoy your meals, on-the-porch, poolside or at the dining table that comfortably seats 10.
Wine tasting abounds on Friday through Sunday and locally we have historic Jackson, Placerville (aka Hangtown) and numerous micro-breweries and vintners. Our favorites wineries are Saluti Cellars in Somerset and Iverson's Vineyard Winery in Fairplay.... and we love the food and the beer at Solid Ground Brewing. Attending a wedding locally? Then, this is the perfect place for up to 12 adult guests. Parking... you could park 20 cars here and have room for more without a problem.
Do you have a baby or two? Not a problem there are two cribs and two high chairs for your convenience.
Multiple ironing boards and irons. Two full-length mirrors in case a bride or groom want to get a full view before the "I do" moment.
Note: My wife, I and our Golden Retriever (Ruby) live in the barn-dominium located about 75 yards from the main home. If you need something, we are there to help, otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your stay.

We had a great time! This home is wonderful for parties up to twelve. The host did a great job furnishing and stocking the house. The kitchen in beautiful and has everything you need to prepare all of your meals. Also, there was never a dull moment in the game room or pool and spa. We would definitely book this home again. A big thank you to the host for sharing your home with our family.

What a great surprise location
This was an excellent location for a retreat. It was expansive with plenty of places to gather and to be alone. There were plenty of large bedrooms and private bathrooms. The kitchen was perfect for group meal preparation. The game room was a fun space to turn off the work and enjoy some recreation.

We have just returned home from spending four choice days at the HideAway for our three-generation (17-member) Family Reunion. It felt to us that our hosts had bent every effort to make us comfortable and welcome. The ample size and numerous rooms and nooks, inside and out provided both individual privacy and comfortable space for whole group gatherings. We had hired a professional photographer to document our Reunion, and she had no trouble finding beautiful settings and backdrops.Others have mentioned the well-supplied kitchen, and we agree that the kitchen is so completely and thoughtfully appointed that one could want for absolutely nothing. The beautiful pool and slide was a major source of entertainment and the elevated, several-level pool decks with various tables and chairs and lounges and fire pit provided a delightful venue for the whole group--both day and night. Finally, the owner/host and the wonderful property manager were delightful to work with. For all of these reasons and more, we are happy to give our enthusiastic recommendation for The Hideaway in Somerset without reservation.

Fun Family Reunion
We had 16 members of our family, including my 95-year-old Aunt and her 86-year-old brother, join us at the Somerset house. It was a lovely time with lots of catching up and visiting, good homemade food and visiting on that wide, open porch in the afternoon sun. The ground were beautiful and brought such peace and the hikes to see the Sunset every evening were well worth the effort!

Annual Ladies Weekend

This house was amazing! My family loved it!
House is huge, very spacious and never felt crowded. Porch is wrapped around with fire pit tables. Very nice pool, hot tub and slide.

Family Vacation
This was our second time renting this property and we will keep doing so as long as it's available. It's the perfect house for family gatherings. We are from NY and have family in the Placerville area so staying at this house is convenient for everyone to gather at. The house has everything you need and more. The pool is the perfect place to hang during the day and the enormous kitchen is the place to hang at night. There is so much space and the game room is the perfect way to end a day. We'll be back in a couple of years!!
