"Nice pool , good breakfast, quiet location. Helpful managers, excellent restaurant on site Our room #128: shower head clogged-had to use hand held. Slow drain and small shower cubicle wirh no curtain: flooding on floor everytime we showered . Dont stay in room 128. Our AC kept our room cool, however everyday we would leave and the housekeeper would open the patio doors and leave them unlocked. We reported this to management. Air conditioner from above floor dripped onto our patio right next to...

"The hotel location is fantastic, very peaceful, with well kept and beautiful grounds. Food is excellent, staff and service equally so. Whilst the rooms are basic ours was very clean and the swim up pool, whilst shared with two other rooms, felt private. We had a wonderful ten days all inclusive, which was excellent value. We'd 100% return! Not a place to go if you're bothered about watching television 🙂"

Top Pitsidia Hotel Reviews

Hotel Kissandros

8/10 Good

"The lady in charge couldn’t do enough for us and she put on a decent enough breakfast each morning. Her qualities stemmed from her good nature and willingness to assist us in every way. Her lack of English language skills meant she lacked the werewithall to help on other issues such as a lack of certain bathroom equipment such as a plug for the sink. Such small inconveniences didn’t bother us but it may do others. The lady’s son attended regularly and he could speak English more than adequately. The room was always clean and everyone down at breakfast seemed to be perfectly happy with the place."

Private paradise with heated pool Peace, comfort. Goddess and large garden

10/10 Excellent

"If you are wanting a 5 star hotel this is not the place for you however if you are wanting a very Cretian villa with a beautiful pool and garden and a host who goes the extra mile then this is the place. Vagelis (the owner) simply added to the holiday with his fresh fruits, honey and oil from his own olives. He was available for any help needed. Great place to stay and great people. We would gladly visit again."

Paralos The Maxine - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"Great sea views and easy 5 minute walk to Agia Galini beach. Room 212 was spacious, bed was comfortable, pool was beautiful and had ample sun-beds and shade, and the AC worked great. Improvements that would enhance the stay include figuring out and fixing the sewage smell in the room and fixing the moldy trim outside shower. Lacked basic amenities like hair conditioner, had a bottle of hand lotion in the shower instead of hair conditioner- which was really weird. When you leave the room, all electricity turns off which means the mini refrigerator and freezer turn off- you come back to melted ice and warm beer. There is no restaurant on site. They do have a snack bar at the pool open until 5 pm. They have buffet breakfast with a lot of hot and cold choices each morning. If you want real orange juice, cappuccino, or espresso there is an additional charge (most hotels include these options via self serve machines). In the evening they offer a buffet dinner. Bar is open til late but does not serve food or snacks. We really missed having a restaurant to order from. Good news is plenty of great beach bars and tavernas were short walk away along the beach."

Villa with sea and mountain views, private pool and large garden

10/10 Excellent

"Spacious and well presented villa with amazing scenic views everywhere you look. So peaceful however only a short walk to the local village with a range of restaurants and shops. There is a steep road to the villa however we managed it in our small car with no issues. Perfect location for visiting the local area. Pool so refreshing. We had an amazing time and would happily return. Good communication with Annette."

Astoria

10/10 Excellent

"The room was modern and spacious, balconies with a sea & mountain view. The buffet breakfast was fresh, with hot & cold choices, great coffee! Staff superb. Guests friendly with kind hearts. My wife was surprised when two Dutch couples presented her with a small gift, singing Happy Birthday on her birthday. Parking on site. Close to all amenities. Shout out to Anna & Constantina."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Pitsidia?

The best area to stay in Pitsidia is within the village centre itself, or just on its outskirts, to fully enjoy its local character and convenience.

Pitsidia village is a small, traditional Cretan settlement. The main square, Plateia Pitsidias, is the heart of the village, surrounded by a few traditional tavernas and a mini-market. The streets radiating from the square are narrow and residential, offering a glimpse into local life. It's a peaceful spot, great for those looking to experience authentic Cretan hospitality away from larger tourist hubs.

Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic Greek experience will find the village centre ideal. You're within walking distance of local eateries, where you can enjoy traditional food and drink. The unhurried pace and friendly locals make it a wonderful place to unwind.

Families might prefer staying slightly outside the immediate village centre, perhaps a short walk or drive away. This often provides more space, perhaps with a private pool, while still being close enough to easily access the village amenities and the nearby beaches like Komos or Matala.

When is the best time to go to Pitsidia?

The best time to visit Pitsidia is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures great for beach activities and exploring, but without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the natural landscape is often at its most beautiful, with lingering spring blooms or early autumn colours. Flights and accommodation can also be a bit more affordable during these times compared to July and August.

For couples looking for a relaxed getaway, the shoulder seasons are ideal. You can enjoy the village's tavernas and the nearby beaches like Komos and Matala without feeling overwhelmed by tourists. It's also a great time for leisurely walks or exploring the local area by car, as the roads are less busy.

Families might also find these months more suitable, especially if travelling with younger children who might struggle with very high temperatures.
