Very nice, new rooms. They provide a variety of pillows, with different firmness. Soaking tub on the balcony was an added bonus.

I have been visiting Solvang and surrounding are for over 15 years. Now I have children and was super happy with the amenities at Sideways, which worked for all. Quiet hours are from 10-10. There is a bar/lounge on site with indoor and outdoor seating, open til 10. They also have a semipermanent trailer that they sell sausage and other smoked meats out of during afternoon hours. The pool was a huge it with my kids, they made friends every morning while swimming. Sideways also has access to the RV park right behind it. This park is nice with its own pool. So there is lots of area to walk around and kids to ride bikes. There is no adult breakfast, but they bring in fresh donuts each morning, which were a hit with my kids and the coffee was great. We used the tesla charger on site, there are 4. The chargers are level 2, so a slower charge. It was $0.45 kWh. Beds were comfortable, shower was clean and had good pressure. There were both a microwave and a good sized fridge in the room as well. We had a fantastic time!

Great place overall. The only downside was that we had a connecting door to the next room in our room, and the gap at the bottom was so big that we could hear the guests in the next room very clearly.

We love the Fog Catcher Inn. This time our sleep was disrupted by some loud families, so it wasn’t quite the peace and quiet we were seeking. Still a wonderful place, we just would have loved to be tucked away a bit more.

Too many problems. When we arrived at 4:10, our room was not ready. It was 5 before we got a key. Drove to our room. Fortunately, it is a motel where you can park next to your room. We walked in and it was not what we booked. We paid a lot more for a room with a balcony, ocean view and sparkling wine. I went back to the front desk, ready to tell them I was canceling, and got a different key right away. If it was so easy, why did they give me the wrong room the first time? I got the right room, and it was very good. The sparkling wine never appeared. I did not pay a premium price for these hassles. The much cheaper hotels nearby are a better option.
