Private dock on large, spring-fed lake with kayaks

Our cedar cottage on pristine, spring-fed Big Whitefish Lake is an all-season retreat and full of charm! The views from this lakefront home are unforgettable. The cottage offers four bedrooms, including a newly remodeled basement and bathroom. You can head down the new stairs to your own brand-new private dock, just a short swim from another dock that features two diving boards (available until Labor Day). Two kayaks and a rowboat are available for use, as well as swim floats and beach toys between May and September. Good fishing available off our dock This is a wonderful remote work location with excellent WiFi. Pets are welcome!

Winter Weekend

The house is a great lake front house. We were here over a long winter weekend and so didn't make much use of the large screened in porch but did enjoy the beautiful views of the lake (and eagles in the trees out front).Host was easy to work with and responsive to all questions. Check in was super easy.

Ladies Getaway

Whitefish Lake

Cottage was roomy, with a huge screened porch that is shaded by trees, but still provides a nice view of the lake. There is a very nice dock and a neighborhood swim platform with diving boards. The playroom downstairs has a video game player for kids. Lake is crystal clear.

Overall, great place and location. Note that there is no a/c. House is right on the lake, which is clear. Dock is newer. Rowvoat and 2 kayaks, life vests, toys, all available. Inside very clean. Outside could have used a hose down (covwebs). Would stay here again, we enjoyed it!

Paradise!

My family & I rented the cabin for a little family fun before the rat race of the school year begins. As soon as we walked through the door, everyone said, “Wow!” at the view. The lake is simply stunning! We enjoyed using the kayaks provided and had a blast jumping off the diving boards. My son & I even trotted down to the lake our first night to view the meteor shower. The stars were amazing! For the most part, everyone slept well. Please note that the bedroom that faces the lake has a thin mattress, but the other beds have the standard size.

Relaxing stay on the lake

This was our second time renting this house. Beautiful location that is conveniently located to Lake Michigan and Grand Rapids. Quiet neighborhood and surprisingly not a huge amount of boating activity on the lake, so you don’t have a constant noise of power boats. The owners are very responsive. Highly recommended.

Wonderful!

Beautiful lake home in a peaceful setting. Only 2 miles from the wedding we attended nearby. The house was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed the kayaks on Big Whitefish Lake, which is clear and has a sandy bottom. The house is well-equipped, and the screened-in porch looking over the lake is fantastic. Excellent bird-watching, and our dog loved the place too! Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you, Patricia!

Exactly as pictured and more

The bathtub/shower in the main bathroom is ENORMOUS! I had to lead with that lol. The house is exactly as they say. It’s very quaint and charming and it feels like a home. The basement is the best kept secret of the whole thing. Recently remodeled its very nice and oh so cool on hot August nights (no AC, but the attic fan kicks butt). Beds are comfy and the kitchen pretty much has all you need. Washer and Dryer work wonderful. The lake is beautiful and it’s so nice to have a screened in porch to enjoy the view. Coffee in the morning on the lower deck is peaceful even if a bird poops on you lol!! The kayaks were a nice bonus and so is the diving platform. We would come back again for sure. I bet it’s splendid in the fall too.

Fantastic Getaway

We had a wonderful time this past week at this lakehouse! It was very quaint and had all the amenities we needed. All the beds were very comfortable, the screened in back porch was fantastic during the morning and evening, and although there is no central air, the attic fan and ceiling fans keep the main living space quite comfortable considering we had a couple of 90 degree days. The men went golfing twice at nearby golf courses and gushed how fantastic Pilgrim Run golf was. The 80 stairs down to the lake were kinda rough, but the dock and lake made up for that. We had a great time playing in the lake, hanging out around the firepit at nighy, using the kayaks and just the peace and calm of the area. The only thing we wish it had was a small beach. You walk down the stairs to the dock and water. A small beach area would be nice but that didn't dampen our fun time and we would highly recommend this rental. The owner Patricia was quick to respond when we had questions and we appreciated that!

Very relaxing comfy lake house

First thing when we arrived-it was immaculately clean. Like satisfy your uptight uncle clean, very impressive. We do a lot of cabins and this was for sure top 3 for cleanliness. It’s obvious that these folks are putting a lot of love into this lake house. The basement has two bedrooms, (all the mattresses are good) a bath and a game room that’s so new it still has new-car smell! PS4 provided as well as a bunch of board games. The TVs are smart, so you can just sign in and be good if you need TV, but THAT SCREENED PORCH THO!! Sooooooo comfy and the table was very nice to eat at and watch the birds. I’m a birder so I was impressed! I saw belted kingfisher, bald eagle, osprey and great blue heron from the porch, each hunting. I got to see the kingfisher fish successfully several times, which was a big treat for me! Lots of others, too many to list. They even have Wingspan, the birders board game! The stairs to the dock are brand new and very well built. The rocking-chair deck halfway is pretty key, too. The boat and kayaks provided were very fun and added to our trip immensely. The lake is wonderful, warm, and full of fish! So you know, the red fishing pole has the best reel. The kitchen is well provided for. Plenty of plates, cups, silverware and pot/pans. The only thing missing was a bit of glassware. Like a few more wine glasses and some shot glasses would help. The water tastes fine, so no need to bring bottled. It looks like the plan is to put in A/C later on (I noticed an e coil on the brand new furnace, but no compressor yet) but the attic fan really moves air thru the house. We didn’t go out much, because the lake is so wonderful, but BC pizza (15 min drive) is pretty good, hand tossed crust, quality ingredients, and the folks at New Standard dispensary (12 min drive) gave me 15% off because I was a new customer, and were very friendly and well stocked. All-in-all a very comfortable lake house we recommend it very highly!

Relaxing Vacation

We had a great time and relaxing vacation. House was spacious and comfortable. Loved the screen porch and the view of the lake. Fire pit was perfect on a chilly evening. Water is very clear and we had fun taking the kayaks out.

Christmas Blowout after a death in the family.

The tragic death of my son over the summer prompted me to throw a huge Christmas for his children. The house was perfect for it. I brought Xmas decor and a tree, and the place looked great with it up. Bring your cameras, and fishing gear. We saw a bald eagle fishing right in front of the cottage and kingfishers trillin all over the place. My sons didn't bring a boat but cant wait to fish the lake.

Great family escape

This was our second summer staying on Big Whitefish lake. The property is perfect for our family of 9. The property has all the amenities needed, as well as some bonus items. The diving platform especially is always a hit with the kids!
