It would have been nicer if we were closer to it. We were on the back side of the motel. The room was small and had 2 double beds. The bathroom was very small. It is located near the airport, but was not noisy at all. The grass had sticktites and our little dog picked up a bunch of them. We started using the gravel areas instead. As usual, this Motel 6 had very small, thin towels. The hotel is not nearly as nice as they make it look in the pictures, but that isn't a surprise. We were just looking for an easy stay for a quick overnight and thought that this would be acceptable. Boy, were we wrong! The room was dirty, one of the beds didn't have a blanket, the room AC was noisy (which wasn't all bad - It at least drowned out the noise from outside that came through the very thin walls). Worst of all, they put us in a smoking room when we had very specifically reserved a non-smoking room. When we asked at the front desk, they shrugged at us and told us there was nothing that they could do. It was too late for us to leave and find another hotel (which we regretted later!), so we just dealt with it. Big mistake. Everything smelled like smoke - All the clothes we had on, everything in the suitcases, backpacks and US. We had to take time out of vacation later to do laundry just to get useable clothes. However, the price is right. We were in Phoenix for my sister's funeral and had spent a lot of money on other things. We just needed a place to rest and this place worked. You won't find luxury but you will find a kjnd and considerate staff, a decent bed to rest, TV, good internet service, and the location makes it easy to get to the airport or access freeway system. But as soon as we walked in there was an extremely smell of cigarette that at this time my nose is still hurting from the strong smell. As if that was not bad enough both beds had huge cigarette burn holes on them and were very dirty. I was thankful I had a couple of covers in my car that we could use. Then we went to take a shower and there was dirt or sand of some kind in the tub. I understand that we didn’t pay much for one night but it’s no excuse for a room to look in that condition. I would never ever stay there. I will pay the extra hundred dollars for at least no cigarette smell and clean sheets. The bed was comfortable and the room simple, but functional. The property is a budget motel, and it lives up to that expectation.
