"When we arrived at the hotel they did not have our booking in their system and looked very surprised to see anyone there. We were the only guests at the entire hotel, but they still did not have a room available for us at 3.30pm when we arrived. We got our room at 4.30pm but was told we should wait 1 hour with using the private pool as they had just put in the chlorine. The rooms are a bit messy and dusty. "Overall, this is an extremely aesthetically pleasing property. On the newer side, so everything is well maintained and the rooms are immaculate. The only downside for me personally- as a solo female traveler- is this is also a very kid-friendly property. Meaning there will be kids running around, kids in the pool, kids also running around the gym while you’re trying to work out. The gym also has one treadmill - and limited equipment so often times I had to wait or come back at a later time. I also found a couple roaches in my room - this doesn’t bother me too much being the humid climate and being on the ground floor next to the pool. Just for others to keep in mind when booking. Otherwise, it’s a great property and walking distance to evening you need for a nice stay."

"Amarta Beach Retreat in Tabanan is located right on a natural black sand beach which has stunning sunsets and is a lot quieter than the crazy beaches in Kuta, Legian or Seminyak. Peaceful, beautiful and quiet - perfect for a 3 night stay and a great location to explore the stunning Tabanan region - esp. villages, magnificent rice fields Bali is famous for, temples, night markets and cosy hill side cafes. Still undiscovered by mass tourism, Tabanan is a precious jewel in Bali’s paradise and exotic crown. "

"This was the most relaxing stay we've ever had. We did read a review that almost derailed our stay there so I'm going to address a few things. 1. The bathrooms are open air. Meaning they have large openings to the outside and you can't close it off. They are fully concrete which is smooth as tile. This was alarming at first and it became one of our favorite parts once we understood the authenticity of the location. 2. Air conditioning is only in the bedrooms. None in living or kitchen area and none in bathrooms. It's very humid in wet season and we spent a lot of time in the bedrooms because of this. 3. Laundry. The listing says laundry but there is not laundry on premises. You have to contact staff and they will come to you to get your laundry and drop it off when finished for a fee. It's VERY inexpensive and worth it for the speedy and kind service. 4. Location. The villa is very remote and there is not a lot of services near by so be certain to bring things you'll need. That being said- this was an amazing stay. The staff catered to EVERY need and delivered every single request to the door. We got massages and facials in the villa. We had our laundry done for us. We rented a scooter and they dropped it off and picked it up. They made us breakfast every morning. We ordered food from local restaurants and it was delivered to us while we were enjoying the pool. We hired the driver for day trips and he handled every single interaction while we were out. "
